Welcome to The GameTZ Game Club! This is my attempt at forming an easy to get into book club type thing, but with games! Anybody and everybody is welcome to join in on the fun!
Rules:
- Each month a random game will be chosen, by myself, for the club to play. Games can vary from the beginning of gaming onward to current generation platforms. There's no limitations!
- You have from the 1st of every month to 11:59PM EST of the final day to complete the designated game. 100% completion isn't required. The point of the club is to provoke game discussion, as well as give GameTZ veterans and new users a place to mingle!]
- For every game completed, post a picture as proof of your completion Example. This is essential in order to receive your badge and entry to the monthly raffle.
- You will be awarded with a badge each month you complete the game. All badges will be proudly displayed next to your name in the original post. As long as you "roll credits" the game is considered beaten!
- Some months will feature prizes! Every user to complete the game each month will be thrown into a drawing to win prizes! Users will be assigned a number and users will be randomly generated at some point the following month.
- Each month's prizes will vary. Prizes will be given out by either me or another member. Sometimes physical, sometimes digital. If you would like to contribute, drop me a message.
- If you don't own the game, and you have access to it on another platform, you're welcome to play it that way. Just make sure that it's the same version, to qualify for the prize or badge.
- If you do not want to participate in the games, but would like to join in on the conversations, please do!
- If you would like to join, just post here, and I'll add you to the list of users. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or criticism, please don't hesitate to post them!

@Slickriven it doesn't... Since they did the Return To Arkham bundle, they opted out of the BC. I had purchased Batman:AC for my 360 but couldn't play it on my X1 when I decided to upgrade. I ended up buying the Return to Arkham bundle for the X1 to play this month.
5. No 6. Yes (Very good question Kommie) 7. Yes!!!
So cat's out of the bag. Game for next month is RE7. I had to pick a scary game, and it was between this, or an oldie (reserving for a future month). I started RE7 at launch and never got super far into it. I was expecting tons of scares, and it didn't happen for me.
I will be playing this on PS4 Pro with PSVR (for as long as I can stomach) in hopes that it ends up scaring/emersing me in more than my first attempt. I'm pretty sure I have a sealed Gold edition worth finally opening!

Its a good game. I played through it many times on my way to getting the Plat. There wan't really any scary moments for me, but its still lots of creepy and cool stuff.
I picked up RE7 on a Steam sale a while back... been hoping it'd come around to the group. Will make every effort to get through it. Looks like it ranges from 10-20hrs to complete depending on a few factors.
I might not participate next month...RE series really isn't my bag, especially the more recent ones. I get going 'scary' for Halloween, but I don't like those types too much. It's all good, I've got plenty to play in the mean time.
Just finished Batman: Arkham City: https://imgur.com/gallery/9EaOEw5 (Watch out for spoilers in the pictures if you haven't finished the game yet.) Not bad. The floaty combat still wasn't my favorite, but I got better at it. Decent story and interesting boss battles. All in all a pretty solid pick that otherwise would have probably sat in my backlog for a long while.
If anyone wants to get RE7 for next month, MS is having a sale on the whole franchise, as well as the DMC and most of FF franchises as well. RE7 is on GP, but it's also down to $10, the 3 DLCs are $4, $6 and $6 respectively (for Banned Footage vol 1&2, and End of Zoe) and lastly the Gold edition is $20. So if you don't have GP, $20 for Gold is the best deal. Looks like the RE sale lasts another 5 days - prices are for XBL subs, not sure on how long the DMC or FF sales are going, likely the same timeframe.
I think I'm going to at least give it a shot next month since it's on GP. I think I was too quick to write it off earlier. Plus it seems to be short.
Ah, yeah I was more talking about the stuff leading up to interacting with that area's boss
The old city specifically. The platformy bits as you were headed to Ra's al Ghul weren't too bad, you just had to follow the stream things... but I guess a few times I failed or nearly failed.
Haha. I had some of the same issues. I took a break right in the middle of that part @sinnie and forgot what button to use when I got back into it. Probably added an extra 20-30 minutes to my play time.
I got the hang of gliding pretty quickly. I thought the mechanics would be useful once I was back out in the hub again, but there are so many graupel points everywhere that extended gliding isn't really necessary.
Still processing the game. It got much better as time went on, I'll admit, but I hated spending most of my time in Detective Mode, and I never really got the hang of the combat, with it's five billion gadgets and button combinations. I got 90% of the way through the game using quick drop kills and then grauping out of sight until everyone was dead.
Didn't really work for that last gauntlet of bad guys, though.
I don't know when I'll get to start this, but when I do I'm definitely busting out the VR. Once you've played it with VR there is no turning back, it feels like you aren't getting the full experience without it.
I'm getting near the end of the game, and I think this might be the best VR game I've ever played despite not using Moves or the gun. I'm amazed at how much crisper the graphics are than most other things I've played in VR. For example, I played a little Raw Data recently, and it looks like a blurry mess compared to this. The atmosphere is gripping, and it's incredibly immersive. What awesome boss fights too.
Done @Frank : https://imgur.com/gallery/afcUzMQ. (I took a picture of the trophy indicating that I got ending 1.). That game was incredible. Awesome choice for this month. I'm glad I had an incentive to move this off of my backlog and play it.
When I first played it, it didn't feel much like a Resident Evil game. I don't remember if there's any Core characters mentioned or referenced in it... But it is a great game. 6 was trash.
I second this comment, got the the 2nd save spot. I'm more interested in just playing so I'm doing it on easy, figure why not. Strange game so far, dude's pain tolerance is impressive... Playing at night gives a little more atmosphere, and it pops on my OLED, quality HDR. GF's character model looks a little off. Glad I decided to play it since I wasn't feeling it after it was announced. It's hardly scary, creepy sure, a touch predictable, but I suspect that to change as it goes along.
I started the game on Saturday night and finished it just a little while ago. I played on easy difficulty (which I will probably continue to do for any game of the month that I've already beaten previously) but this was almost too easy, especially the last boss.
Such a great game and pretty much everything I said about it after my initial playthrough a couple years ago I still feel is true. Playing this in VR has to some extent kind of ruined non-VR horror games for me (particularly jump scares where the character is popping up right in your face). Once again I missed one single bobblehead thingy during the campaign just like in my original playthrough, and the only new trophy I unlocked this time was for getting ending #2. I remember in my first playthrough the shadow puzzle things kinda stumped me for a little bit, but I breezed through them this time. I played through the Japanese version but unfortunately I can't be bothered setting up a Japanese PSN account to be able to download the free DLC stuff they released for the game, so I'll never know if that's any good or not.
I'm enjoying the game so far. It's hardly scary and at times feels a touch like a walking sim, since there isn't a bunch of enemies, part of the annoyance is inventory management. Now I am playing on Easy, so I certainly expect a Normal or Madhouse run would be a little more challenging. I finally got my first jump scare in the greenhouse, otherwise I'm largely been expecting things to jump out at me. I also can image if I was playing in VR it would be a lot more engaging.
Curious to those who've already beat it, am I at or over 50% yet?
I've collected the Blue and am about to collect the Red keys, also did the Birthday cake VHS
I was finally able to start RE7 today. I'm liking it so far. It is pretty creepy and I've had a few jump scares already. (no VR.) I am playing on Easy because I'd just like to get it done for the month.
Folks who have beaten it... tell me how much longer I got left? Trying to get this done before the end of the month and the two days I wanted to come home early and dive into it, just didn't happen.
I got the creepy arm and inbred boy captured Mia and Zoe

I haven't beat it yet, but am further ahead of you. If you've done the birthday VHS, then the next section isn't terribly long... But there's another section after it that I'm in and I'm not sure how long that is. And of course there could be more after that.
Beat this, Frank I'll message you the image for proof. Beat it on easy and at times it felt a bit like a walking sim, glad I gave it a shot though, and the ending video with the top folks of the credits was cool, good song. @sinnie I'd guess you're about 70% through it, depending on how much exploring you're doing.
I look at my upcoming playtime hours, and I tell myself that I should be able to beat this, but it's going to be tight. Same thing happened last October, though to be fair, I got married then.
I think I'm at the point just after
you find both colored keycards and complete the light puzzle with the wooden hatchet.
I'll have some time this weekend and I hope to power through it. I am having a lot of fun with it. It doesn't feel like an RE game to me at all because there's no real zombies. But it is super creepy and a fantastic addition to the horror genre.
I'm hoping to get through it Oct 30th. My friend and I are gonna try to power through the whole thing (we think it looks super cool but we're kind of wimps on our own, lol)
@EB it's really not all that long. My session told me I spent 10 hours (on easy), but I know I left it paused for 5-10+ mins a few times and I like to explore 100% of areas looking for things. There's an achievement to beat it under 4 hours and on a 2nd attempt I could see myself doing that on normal now, (the VHS tapes are optional) and I could have ignored things and would know where to go in what order.
@sinnie Nice monitor, but did you go soft and beat it in the daylight? It didn't scare me save for 1 jump scare when going up some steps in the greenhouse, otherwise I largely expected enemies to be around the next corner. Playing at night in the mostly dark added atmosphere for me, but I'd guess playing on easy softened the scares.

I did beat during the day today, but only because I've been working like 65hr weeks and had to take what I could get. Though I got the most spooked at night really. I did play a LOT late last night and Friday night.

Wow 65hrs/week is crazy. I recall you saying you had to put a lot of hours in recently, and I was just teasing. Are you in healthcare or something that you do so many hours?

Nah. I was working for myself for a few years at home, but after about 8 months of back and forth, I closed on and purchased my own UPS Store. So I'm training 3 associates so they'll be able to handle Christmas and am slowly going to decrease my hours and work on growing the business and maybe opening up another location within the next 2yrs.
@sinnie Ah, that's cool. I wish I had another UPS store close to me. We have a UPS depot in town so you can do certain shipments out of there, but I can't take Amazon returns there and they don't really sell anything, so you can only drop off pre-labeled packages or pay to ship something that's fully boxed up already. There is one ~20+ mins away that's run by a nice group of people and I've used it for Amazon returns.

We got a few too many around here for my taste, so unfortunately I find myself competing with another store 4 miles down the street. However I'm winning people over with customer service and slightly undercutting prices, lol. I was wanting to open one up closer to my home (this one is 25 minutes away from me) but it was a too-good-not-to-buy situation that I figured would be a stepping stone to something more later.
