> superman is so hard to do as a game, i dont know we'll ever get one sadly.
I agree. However, I think if they're able to incorporate ways to make the flying feel fast yet slowed down at the same time (like Spider-Man felt), I think they could do it. Spider-Man opened up possibilities I never thought possible for a super-hero game.
ya spidey was good. superman though, how do you make combat for that? he can one shot anything aside from a darkseid level villain, so in gameplay you end up having to create a very non superman experience. very out of character for spiderman even to take more than one hit to put down a regular human, much less superman.

Definitely. I hope they can pull it off though.
I guess the other thing that would be cool is a Wonder Woman or Justice League game where Superman is someone you only use once in a while or something. Regardless, I'd just like to see another fun superhero game other than Batman (which I was never actually a fan of).
ya i hope so, id love to see a justice league game but they are just so overpowered, every enemy would have to be some kind of super monster to keep it in character. wonder woman is just a step below supes on the raw strength scales, so its a similar challenge with her. a justice league game though were superman is busy handling something else and only occassionally shows up a is playable in a somewhat limited capacity could work though, and he could just be this ridiculous thing that mows down everything effortlessly.
ya no interest in a SS game, hoping they scrapped that since the film wasnt that well received and i dont think the animated one was that well receieved either, i think they were banking on the popularity of harley to carry it but i dont think it worked like they hoped.
Hopefully they pick up a cue from Spider-man PS4 and make this one feel like a comic book. I'm in the minority here but I could never get sucked into the Arkham series. It just all seemed way too gritty and even in Arkham City, but especially Asylum, the game world just seemed like a series of dark corridors.
Hopefully this next one, being based on the Court of Owls, integrates a little more of the cartoony/comic book "fun" that existed in Batman before Nolan's movies happened so that it stands apart from the Arkham games. Court of Owls is a cool concept that could make a great game, I'd just like the atmosphere to be notably different compared to the more recent Batman games.
I'm ready for that Last of Us 2 release date of 2/14/20 for sure. Hopefully they don't unveil a bunch of VR crap I don't really care about. Some new interesting indies would be nice, though or some news on The Ghost of Tshunima, but I have a feeling that game is being held off as a PS5 launch title for some reason.
Yep, ain't nobody does directs like Ninty does, sadly. They could have saved 15 out of the 20 minutes of air time on that State of Play with just saying hey there's a Meddevil demo on the PSN today, The Last of Us Remastered and MLB The Show 19 are free with PS+ in October and btw The Last of Us II is coming on 2/21/20. See y'all next time!
Any of you tried the MediEvil demo? I'm glad they released a demo because it saved me $30. I haven't played it in so long but I remember liking it on PSone even though the controls were kinda stiff and it's the main reason I never beat the game. They didn't really fix that, the controls still need work.
Some Modern Warfare game mode will be exclusive for PS4 for a year. Xbox, and PC gamers are not happy, Xbox players saying they're going to boycott it. Meanwhile console players were telling PC gamers they're a bunch of idiots for boycotting the EPIC Games Exclusives like Borderlands 3. Way to not care till it actually affects you.
Yeeeeep. I don't buy EGS exclusives because I don't have EGS installed on my PC anymore, and haven't since I switched to PS4 to play what little of Fortnite I still play. Not a good enough featureset to justify using it, and I honestly don't like how they're marketing it (or keeping games off competing platforms to force people guerilla-style to use them or else).
I didn't buy BL3 because of that, and because of the drama leading up to it. Basically I'm just disappointed in almost everyone.

Is there another image out there that shows the statue in detail or are you referring to the shot they chose? Because you can't really see much of anything from the screenshots I've seen. The God of War and Horizon statues that came with those collector's editions are fantastic so I have pretty high hopes for this one.
Anybody try the pluto tv app? I'm liking it as far as a free app goes. it has channels for impact and triple a which is good for wrestling fans, actual music video channels but they play crapty music lol its fun to play around with, watched platoon for the first time on there, good movie.

Yeah, I ended up cancelling mine after that post when I really looked at it. It looks half-assed, and since I don't care about anything else, I'm not paying $100 more for the CE for a mediocre statue. It looks like those lifeless religious ones you see at the hallmark store. The guitar looks cool, but that's about it.

That's kinda my point. I won't base my opinion of a statue on a low-res mock from an odd angle.
@kevolones You didn't like the Horizon statue? I love that thing and i'm not usually into statues. Gentle Giant did the statue for both Horizon and God of War and I imagine they'll be doing this one as well. I think they do amazing work and I'll be shocked if this one doesn't turn out well.

Yeah I loved the HZD CE statue. Its one of the best Ive seen. I agree, Gentle Giant does pretty good. Are you saying GG will be the manufacturer for the TLOU2 statue? I hope so.
Hopefully Im wrong and the statue ends up being awesome. I would suggest you preorder then wait for early unboxing videos and decide if its worth it or not. Thats what I would do If I was interested...its a little beyond what I would pay.
ive made it to chapter 11 (or 12?) of yakzua 3 ps4 remaster. ive done almost all side stories, so im very near done. it definitely holds up ok and has that RGG charm and kiryu is great as always, it seems like majima has very little part this time after playing 0 and the kiwami remakes of 1 and 2. the game looks pretty nice, for the old engine its scaled well, its not dragon but its definitely fine. the load times on ps4 pro arent bad at all, so its not a constant load fest when you enter and exit the shops and such, not sure what it was like in the ps3 if its improved greatly or not, but its definitely fine. the little okinawa town is neat, its very small compared to Kamurocho, which isnt that big by video game standards these days but Kamurocho always feels so lived in so it feels big. i have a couple side stories to finish and then the final battles but im near done. one of the stats on the stats screen is haruka's trust level, which has been F the whole game, and nothing seems to raise it, i do all the side stories for her and the kids at morning glory and i walk around kamurocho with her but maybe just havent done that enough. i wish 4 and 5 could have come out along with it, so i could just move right on through the rest of the series, but its out in november i think so not too long.
im thinking im going to play death stranding around release, so i'll have to see how much time i have before that to decide what to play next. the backlog is eternal but i still think about fire emblem all the time, so its hard to resist going back and playing again, ive played all routes so aside from a challenge run or giving maddening mode a go im trying to wait for the dlc because im gonnna want to play through all over again with the new characters and such. though ive thought of a few things i wanna do, like all mages, no mages, archers only, some ironman runs etc. maybe i'll finally get going hard to on the legend of heroes stuff, i want to play them from trails in the sky 1 up through the cold steels in order so maybe i'll start that. probably wouldnt have time to do that before death stranding though. may just start throwing down some short stuff, and ive got 4 or 5 fighting games over the last year or two ive never even turned on. and the fall anime seasons are coming, so may just take a little break til DS.
I don't know how the gameplay is really, do you just run around and jump all day long? Do you shoot anything? The story sounds convoluted as fudge. Who knows what we've got? I hated MGS V because I don't want to spend 3 hours per mission with I guess "too much" freedom, is it like that?
But the last few games I wasn't sure about, Days Gone, Control etc, I ended up liking a lot, so I mean why not give it a try. I am batting extremely well for PS4 games to try and play lately.
I don't get the crazy fan base for Kojima. People lose their minds over this game. I personally have never understood it. I think his games are average. They just have insane Japanese story nonsense in them. And people act like his games are the only Japanese games that have that crap in it, and therefore he is a god or something. Its just so odd to me.
There's really no middle ground with Kojima. You either love his crap or you don't. And I totally get the arguments against most of his games, but I adore the man. I've said it before that I think PT and MGS5 are two of the best things I've experienced this gen. And that's in spite of all the issues I had with MGS5. I can't wait for Death Stranding. I have avoided pretty much all the media for the game and I have no idea what to expect, but that's kinda the beauty of it. There's a chance it doesn't come together and there's a chance it's something truly special.
I will agree that anything he does is met with critical acclaim and it's just weird. MGS5 is FAR from perfect and it somehow has the same Metacritic score as The Witcher 3. MGS4 is flawed and archaic is many ways, but it ended up with a Metacritic of 94. So yeah, there's every chance that Death Stranding will be the best-reviewed game of the year no matter what.
I respect Kojima, but the man sure is strange and only gets stranger as time goes on. Oh and I got an inside tip on all the winners at The Game Awards this year. The results are below for those curious.
Game of The Year: Death Stranding Best Action/Adventure Game: Death Stranding Best RPG/JRPG: Death Stranding Best Shooting Game: Death Stranding Best Racing Game: Death Stranding Best Sports Game: Death Stranding Best Puzzle/Platform Game: Death Stranding Best Indie Game: Death Stranding
MGS is a big part of that honestly. But I don't think anyone on here acts like that about it. I'm not saying that. I'm being general. Other gaming communities (gamefaqs, IGN, Gamespot, even social media like twitter) you will find large rabid fan bases for him and MGS. Like over the top fans who get extremely angry that anyone says anything remotely critical. Its just always blown me away. I've never understood it. Its like a cult.
