Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition Shin Megami Tensei V Ushiro Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link Ys 9 Monstrum Nox Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Tokyo Mirage Session #FE Encore: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Yakuza: Like a Dragon Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Persona 5 Royal Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers Sakura Wars Fairy Tail Trials of Mana
theyve been real busy with P5 the last few years, it was delayed several times and came out much later than they hoped, and they are working on SMT 5 and then they apparently had a p5 mosou going and who knows how long they had been working on that which comes out next year too. maybe now that p5 is done and scamble is almost done they'll do something with those, id be down to see P3 FES and P4Golden remastered, but ive also seen there is early ideas going for P6, but it will be a new lead, apparently the old persona series lead is off to pursue other things now.
@Heavyd814life I posted about this in the last game you beat thread but I wrapped up the Bloodborne run. I killed Ludwig but stopped short of doing all the DLC. I was just like, am I really beating Orphan like this? And said hell no lol.

Man, I REALLY wanted to see you go up against Orphan, but I don't blame you lol. Taking out Ludwig is super impressive because he's insanely tough. Probably my favorite boss fight of the entire game, actually. It's definitely a toss-up between him and Lady Maria.
i dont think botw will be "sticking it" to ps5 and scarlett, its two different consumer bases and demographics of player. will it sell great, ya, but will it take anything from those platforms? no. that gap will widen even more with the new consoles as the tech will be too far apart for them to share the big games and there will be def be different markets for next gen and switch, but nintendo has long said they dont feel they compete with anyone they just do their thing, maybe another reason why they are content to release in the middle of the big kids generations. but they may not want to be too far off, as switch was said to be a 5 year plan and they'd be looking at a switch 2 in 2022 or so.
Ys: Memories of Celceta coming to the PS4 in Spring 2020. 60fps, full HD graphics, and optimized controls to reproduce the touchscreen functions of the Vita version. I feel like I'm so far behind on the Ys games, but I'll definitely grab this at some point.
im going to guess this probably isnt that great nor are the production values very high, as this was a mobile game turned vita game in japan and its pretty old, but the premise is really interesting.. you start the game having already defeated the boss, at the cost of your life, and the gods due to your bravery are giving you five days to get your affairs in order, but you dont remember what they are. you start the game at end game level and get weaker as you go. you'll piece together who you are, who the girl you died to protect was, and complete quests to give the world the best future you can, apparently there are over 50 endings depending on how much you can accomplish in your five days.
doesnt look like something id pay much for but the premise is pretty different at least.
ya i thought it was odd they didnt call it 3, they are calling it 2, i was expecting it to be called bravely third, unless maybe it is connected directly to default in some special way
also the new trailer for FF7R is next level, the hype has never been bigger ... even with my love for the witcher and all things CDPR i think FF7R is more anticpated than CP2077 for me if only by a little
> ya i thought it was odd they didnt call it 3, they are calling it 2, i was expecting

It's pretty much the opposite of that. Bravely Second was a direct sequel to the first game, and this one appears to have a new setting and new characters. So if this one gets a direct sequel, they'll call it Bravely Third and then release Bravely Default 3 later down the line. Lol
I picked up Ni No Kuni for the Switch around black Friday. I am still working on DQXI though. I have been really side tracked from gaming lately though. Holidays really messed me up and we took a trip to Disney World.
I saw AI: The Somnium Files on sale for $30 on Amazon, so I have that coming in now. Not sure if it even has any RPG elements but I see it listed in the OP, so whatever. I finally got around to replacing my right joy con, which had some extremely noticeable drift, so I'll finally finish Witcher 3 this week. It became unplayable with the camera spinning all over the place, lol.
New trailer and multiplayer gameplay for Granblue Fantasy Relink. This game looks so damn good! Combat is fluid as hell and it looks like it'll be a blast to play. Still no release date, unfortunately.
It's from the creator of the Zero Escape series, so the writing should be solid. I just need to finish the main quest in Witcher 3 (pretty much did all the side stuff) and then I'll get started on AI. I've been wanting to play it, but was just waiting to get it for $35 or less.
They've been showing us footage that looks like its almost ready for over a year now. This has to be coming out soon. Versus, the 2.5D fighting game, comes out in February in Japan. So I'd have to imagine this is coming out in like April or May.
Yeah, for the most part, Tony. I put off finishing the main story until I did that stuff. I do still have a couple of quests in Blood and Wine that I still need to complete. My right joy con drift eventually got so bad that I couldn't play the game comfortably anymore. I started playing old school 2D side-scrollers instead, which ended up being a good thing, since it increased the number of games I've beaten this year by quite a bit. (And removing those games from my backlog in the process.)
go ahead and finish the main story and then finish up the DLC, they are meant to be after the main quest anyway, so dont worry about trying to do them before completing that. the end of blood and wine is the end of the story of Geralt of Rivia pretty much.

Yeah, it is a little weird how it talks about his "beloved Triss" when they haven't actually ended up together yet, lol. I'll finish the main quest and then knock out those last two Blood and Wine quests to wrap it all up then. If I decide to come back to the game again later (and I likely will), then I still have all those question marks on the map to discover. Most of the ones I haven't been to are in Skellige and are mostly just smugglers crates, but I may get the urge to go after them anyway. That was my favorite map to explore.
I'm following the main story, back in Kear Moren right now. It seems the expansions require a higher level so isn't it best to do main story, rocky bocky whatever the hell it's called, then blood and wine?
I went on a huge .hack gu binge the past week, finished vol. 1 and am 30 hours into vol. 2. I'm friggin' hooked. I played the first 2 .hack's many years ago, this is my first time playing the GU games. I would love to see more in the series, both the og and GU are fantastic.
I'm still on media blackout for FF7R, but I get so tempted to click on the articles that pop up on Gematsu. The little I've seen just looks so damn good, but I want to be surprised by all the changes when I play the game next year.
I know we usually discuss JRPGs here, but I want to give some love to Divinity Original Sin 2. The game has so much damn content and I have been obsessed with it for a good week now. Definitely one of the best RPGs of this gen and I only wish there was a cross save feature so I could move between the PS4 and Switch versions of the game. That's something I'd really like to see more from multiplatform games.
I don't know what I would have done had Ciri died during my playthrough. I honestly think I would have broken my PS4 lol. I'm hoping and praying Ciri is the main character if CDPR makes The Witcher 4. Not sure how it would work with her being a demigod and all, but that's pretty much my dream game right now.
I mean who's not on board for Witcher IV day fudging one. You gotta be insane if not. I must admit I'm not as hyped for Cyberpunk mainly cause 1st person shooters don't interest me much, even if they are RPGs. However it's CDPR so I gotta trust the story will be great.
> Well that didn't take me long. I already decided.
yes. play the main quest and then do hearts of stone to completion and then blood and wine to completion. at the end of main quest you are the right levels for hearts of stone and then blood and wine finishes the story of not only the witcher 3 but of Geralt as well.
also... regarding the ciri choice. dont do it.
empress is the bad ending, witcher ciri is the good ending
>> I just did the battle of Kaer Moren. As the guy on pitch meeting says. "WowWow
>> wow. Wow".
> Yeah, that was really well done. Make sure you have the snowball fight with Ceres,
> btw. I've heard that you need to do that for the best ending.
you do. you need to let ciri be herself and stand for herself and have the snowball fight to get the good ending, trying to "parent" her will lead you to the bad endings. she doesnt want to be empress and in some she even dies.

i dont know how youre doing it. ive imagined this for 20 years and everything looks almost exactly the way i imagined it would if it could look this good. i get misty eyed sometimes reading these articles and seeing these images, like sometimes i still cant believe its real.

ya this looks so amazing, it just keeps creeping up my list for next year. not excited about the multiplayer thing though, i wish these companies didnt feel the need to shoehorn multiplayer into everything, rpgs are some of the games where thats needed the least and it just takes resources. if we could get the finished game months earlier id much rather a more polished game and sooner than MP.
new Legend of Heroes/Trails game coming out next year in Japan. translates to Trails of the Beginning for now, will lead to the end of the current trails saga and then also be a beginning, exciting stuff.
looks like falcom is serious about upping its graphical game they are working on their own engine, seems like it would be easier to just license unreal or something but hey im always excited about falcom news
I have a question for everyone in is thread. I have never played a dragon quest in my life and want to start from the beginning. I just recently bought the first one for the switch since it was on sale and barely had enough money to buy it and saw the third one is more expensive than the first two game. Why is that? I saw that third hero being in smash too and is that game popular or what?
the early stuff will be hard to play these days, 8 and 11 are the far and away best in the series and some of the best games ever in general. they'll introduce you to dragon quest things and if you really like them you'll find things to like about most of the others probably.
> Thanks for the advise. I will get 11 when there is a discount for it. I'm still going

Glad to hear it; I still enjoy the first 3 myself. Yes, the first can be a bit rough, but having cleared the first one on Switch, it's a good entry point to the series without all the clunks from the NES version. 2 and 3 then expand so much and bring things toward the modern DQ we all know and love now. Plus, seeing that first trilogy is a nice touch.
> Yeah, I'm really looking forward to trying Tokyo Mirage Sessions again. I just couldn't

I never even played it. BUT, it does look up my alley. Since I like SMT and FE. I don't think I'll have trouble getting in to it. Hot damn is Ni no Kuni charming though. So glad I have a chance to finally beat it.
I am sending huge hope vibes into the either for a Baten Kaitos 1&2 collection. Those are seriously the only 2 games I'd consider buying a gamecube again for. Release them again so I don't have to struggle over this!!
Ni no Kuni was a gem in the PS3 era. So very few great RPGs and that game stands out indeed. I don't mind Jpop. Except in games like Persona where the atmospheric music used to be dark and eerie. But jpop fits in TMS.
