Since a lot of users enjoy the 20 questions part of The GameTZ Game Club, and it was recommended that it become its own topic... here it is!

Rules:

- You can only guess one "Yes or No" question at a time. (This includes guessing the game) and
- You cannot re-guess until your question has been answered.
- Only 1 person is the "Guesse" at a time.
- First to correctly guess the game becomes the guesse.
- If 20 questions are asked, and the game is not chosen, the guesse can pick another game.

Though that was kinda cheating getting three companies into one question. :p I'm all about you guys trying to get it though and this is a fairly personal pick.

But if this starts getting too tricky I have a clue pertaining to this question I can give later.

I've done that a lot. It's not cheated because you're just answering if it was one of those companies. I still have to figure out which one. Gen 5 or earlier is asking 5 question, is it gen 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5? That's the same question when you think about it.

Totally legit question tbh. And as mentioned it is not on US Super Nintendo

I am definitely counting all regions for a question such as is it on SNES because it would be stupid to say no because it's only on Super Famicom.

Can someone round up the all facts so far?

It's a SNES RPG, not developed by Nintendo, Square or Enix?

The game was released post 2000 on another system.

14-Aug(#22)
This was, in a way, a watershed game. It was the first time this specific genre properly, with good gameplay depth, got off of PC. Insanely underrated developer as well, who most people don't really remember worked on the early entries in a much more famous RPG series.

This has been ruled out by previous questions. Mainly the fact that it was on another system within a year. I don't think we should count this one.

I ruled out Ys V with my last clue which I felt was strongly in play up until then. This might have been too obscure. Another question that is sometimes asked...this is part of a LONG running series. The franchise even has a PS4 entry smile .

Here's an info dump to hopefully give it away.

The developer also developed some Dragon Quest games. The PS4 entry in this series is a spinoff based on another IP, but with the core gameplay in tact to my knowledge (haven't played it myself). In that vein, the franchise has entries with Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy and Pokemon characters.

It has and no. I eliminated it when I started rambling about how important the game was in terms of the genre. Ys had been around for quite awhile including console releases.

Yeah screw it.

Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer

In regards to the earlier clues: it was redone in 2006 for the DS. The PS4 entry is Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics. Then there are Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy (Chocobo Mystery Dungeon) and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games as well. And as mentioned it was the first proper roguelike on console.

I was trying to give it away but I also picked a pretty obscure game even if the more recent entries are somewhat known. The game is HARD AS NAILS and I can't recommend it enough to those looking for an EXTREME CHALLENGE. Sometimes you can get totally dicked by the RNG but the real joy it battling through bad RNG to win.

There's bragging rights and respect. That's worth at least $0.000000025. It's kind of like that little cash value on the bottom of your Burger King coupon.

I'll stop asking questions like that if everyone wants me to. I just don't see how those questions are any different from 2000 or earlier or gen 6 or earlier, etc. It's the same principle. You still have to figure out which of them it is. He's not answering the questions separately.

"Did it come out gen 6 or earlier?" = "Did it come out in gen 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6?"

"Did it come out during or before 2000?" = Did it come out 2000, 99, 98, 97,96...?"

Plus, considering we're usually close to question 20 before we figure it out, it's not exactly game-wrecking.

Lunar

When you ask conjunction questions, you need more questions to narrow it down which defeats the purpose.

You cast a wide net in the beginning(questions 1-5) then it's better to ask more specific questions to narrow things down using clues from answers to other questions.

I think it's worse to ask "Is it on PS3 or Xbox 360?" than to simply ask "Is it on PS3?". "And/Or" questions are only really good once you have an idea which direction to go.

This is a better question than mine I think, but there is a lot of crossover. By asking if it's 3D, if it wasn't than it would have nullified the N64 question. If it is on N64 this question ends up being wasted now tho.
