Phantom Dust remaster is supposed to be out today for free.

injustice came out today as well. grabbed that on my ps4 though,

Batman would be a huge get. With them wanting to push game pass harder they need some big named games that non-gamers and casuals know about to attract them to the service. Halo is a big one already but MK could be another. Pair that with a $200 Lockheart and that could be really big for them.

There would probably be licensing deals so any videogame based on a DC character to appear on as many platforms as possible. Let's face it this sale is nothing like what Marvel had to do 20 years ago... But MK would be pretty big for some. The fighting genre used to be one of my favorites but MK has kind of fizzled for me awhile ago. I should give MKX a shot, I believe it was free a little while ago..

I'm reading some pieces of information saying that WBI owns the game licensing rights to LEGO, Harry Potter, and DC games, but I need to have a bit more concrete info on that. I guess they also own all the old Midway IPs including Mortal Kombat (obviously), Rampage, Gauntlet, Crusin USA, NFL Blitz, San Francisco Rush, Spy Hunter, etc... AT&T wants to sell to help reduce their $150b of debt they currently have. The full list of studios that comes with WBI are:

Avalanche Software
Monolith Productions
NetherRealm Studios
Portkey Games
Rocksteady Studios
TT Games
WB Games Boston
WB Games Montréal
WB Games New York
WB Games San Diego

re-rekoning is coming out Sept 8th. Still no actual game play shown. I have my doubts about this being a remake now. And that it will just be some up rezed remaster. I'm not paying $50 for a remaster.

I don't see the point when you can just play the game enhanced via BC on the X1X. Even at $10 I don't think I would be interested. Its a good game but I already own it and can play it without waiting until Sept.

Ah so they don't own the rights to The Witcher or Cyberpunk. Leave it to CD Projekt red to withhold the IP rights. That's the amount of respect they command.

I too like this but I think companies are adapting via covid to no longer bother with the million-dollar booths and instead just spend a fraction to create more formal (pre-prepared) presentations that they can just live stream. I'd love for E3 to be virtual next year, but still occur in the same week. I mean, the crowd reactions to Keanu or Miyamoto on stage were always a little cringe. But I loved getting all my future console news in the same week.

Rumors going around that Halo Infinite is going to be 4k 120fps in MP, 4k 60fps single player, or the option for 1440p 60fps with full ray tracing in single player. Current gen consoles (non X1X) are going to be 900p and 30fps single player. Really want to see what this slip space engine can do.

Xbox One X and Xbox One S All Digital have been discontinued, presumably to make way for the XSX and XSS.

MS aims to have every Xbox One game playable on the XSX (minus Kinect titles) at launch.

XCloud launches in September and it will be free to all GPU subscribers.

When Gears 5 is available on the XSX the campaign will be native 4k 60fps (even during cutscenes), support 120fps multiplayer, and will have 50% more particle effects than the PC Ultra version is capable of.

MS game show on the 23rd will be 100% games, they will not talk about hardware, services, or devices of any kind and it will be around 1 hour in length.

I'm pretty excited for the show but I'm trying not too let my imagination run wild with what they may possibly show. Jez Gordon was shown 10% of it and he said what he has seen is insane, so here's hoping.

One thing the Sony camp needs to do is they need to ask more of Sony rather than keep making excuses for their short comings. MS fan kept asking for more and now they're getting more. BC, faster/stronger console, all those studios they've bought and will buy, game pass, XCloud, a focus on 60fps next Gen, cross play, etc...

I'm really getting into the Xbox. You got Xcloud, smart delivery, fudgein awesome gamepass. Since I feel pretty sure it's all in Xbox for me (with PS5 just for exclusives) I just bought a Logitech Racing wheel. It's something I've always considered doing, and the G920 was on sale from Logitech themselves for $249 when it's $399 normally. Best time to just jump in at that price. Can't wait to try FH4 and Dirt Rally 2.0 with that wheel! And of course all the future Xbox Series X racing games will pretty much be on gamepass day one to play with my wheel. Which will make it more than worth the investment in the long run.

dustin11
Double Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally
* 17-Jul(#28)
I've wanted a wheel for such a long time but I could never justify the price. I think that I've gotten so used to playing Forza without one that switching to a wheel would feel odd at this point. I would still like to give it a shot one day though.

Yeah MS is has really stepped it up with what they're offering the consumer and have been listening to feedback with what their fans want. Now we just need them next gen console prices to be announced.

MS also is no longer offering 12-month XBL subscriptions. Theres a rumor going around that they're getting rid of XBL and going to go forward with GPU only from now on and possibly not requiring a subscription to use online. That would be a pretty big mic drop at next week's show.

At this point XBL is just redundant when you can just bundle everything together. The writing was on the wall when the head of XBL left to join EA to become the head guy for the game Skate. Absolutely no way he would take that big of a step down unless his job was getting phased out at MS. MS would also stop offering GwG which I don't really care about anyhow and just throw everything into GP.

Sean Murray also said that over 1m new players have played NMS since it hit GP. This is why studios want their game in the service because they typically see large player increases as it gets their game more exposure. There was another dev, can't remember who off the top of my head, but they said sales of their game jumped 800% after it went into GP. This really is the future of Xbox and I think its become much more successful than anyone probably expected it to be.

They (Hello Games) also released another big free update to the game yesterday. Adding a bunch of new stuff people have been asking for. They continue to support this game the correct (consumer friendly) way. Free updates after a failed launch. Not trying to make people buy DLC or add MTX for the "fixes/updates" (looking at you FF14 and Fallout 76, and ESO to an extent as well). And as someone who has been playing the game, its a very damn good game right now. I expect they will continue to do well in the future. They have earned a good rep with a large core of loyal fans. And almost everyone who hated it at launch and has come back has good things to say about it. They also recently implemented cross play, so anyone on any system can play with a friend on another. I wish more devs would take this approach as well.

Yeah its one of the reasons why writing off a game entirely upon launch is dumb. I was pretty critical of the game when it launched (partly because SM straight up lied with some things that were going to be included but weren't) but after they worked on it more they did right by the customer and made it better. Should it have launched in the state it is now? Yeah probably. But I also don't think the fans would have accepted a 3 year delay. He already received death threats for delaying the game like 2 weeks.

yeah good point about exposure. I mean games like DiRT Rally 2.0 have extra racing track bundles. Now I already bought the physical version. But if I had stumbled on it on gamepass, I still would have bought the $20 track pack which has 12 extra racing locations. Totally worth the money. This gamepass is really working out for MS huh.

Yeah, my GP library backlog is already filing up fast with a ton of games that have recently released. Playing through the Messenger right now then after that its off to Streets of Rogue.

I was reading that Epic Games said that the Hellblade 2 Demo MS showed at the VGA was all real time and in game, so what we saw is supposedly what the game will look like when its released. Thats pretty funny too because Digital Foundry said there is no way what they showed was in game because of how good the LOD and draw distance was. Going to be cool to see some gameplay segments and I hope the game is a bit more well rounded than the first game was because it was a bit on the boring side, IMO.

They're doing that to make way for the Series X and Series S (assuming it exists, which many rumors suggest that it does). The All Digital was a huge seller and was the top selling console this past Black Friday in the US and Europe, so the thing flew off shelves because of the price point but its redundant to have that and the XSX which are essentially the same thing. There isn't any sense for MS to continue making the console that they're going to be replacing in 3-4 months and they're wanting to clear out inventory and shelf space in retail from now until the holiday season.

Their line up for next gen is presumably going to be

X1S: for people who don't want to upgrade yet but still want physical media. Price point will probably be super low next gen.
XSS: Digital only console with next gen hardware but a weaker GPU, meant for budget gaming and 1080p 60-120fps. Price is rumored to be $200-300
XSX: Pretty much replacing the X1X like for like is more of the "enthusiast" console for people who want the highest specs. Price rumored to be $400-500.

I'm on a little bit of a buying spree. And I remember loving Flatout when there just wasn't much as far as that type of game. So that game is totally up my alley. Love the tracks that are geared toward destruction and all of the derby style stuff you can do. Looks really fun. And I mean, driving couches, hilarious. And isn't it true this dev is the one that made flatout? Which kinda makes this the current gen flatout. Seriously if I knew this game from this dev existed sooner, I'd already have owned it.

I've been playing Forza 7 a bunch lately but am starting to lose interest. The races are getting longer and longer...with less and less fun vehicles. I don't want to race a 1960's rally car on tarmac, or a semi truck, just to advance in the game. I understand that's the point but it's not very fun. I have a huge garage of cars that I don't get to really drive.

Maybe @dustin11 will chime in as our resident Forza expert with some advice for me. I know he's pretty much 100%'d the game. wink

Start to use those card things before the races, they give you mini challenges to complete during the race with bigger payouts if you can complete them. What kept me going was trying to get the absolute best lap times possible regardless of the class of car I was in. I didn't even mind the endurance races and did one of them twice just because the cash payout was so good. That Ariel Nomad race was horrific though. I never want to do that again. Worst handling thing I've ever driven in any Forza game.

I didn't know them until I was about 90% done with all the races so getting money was definitely not easy and I really had to save a lot to get some of the cars for later races. Same here. I played 5 missions in a row that were easy peasy, then the immediate next mission I did where you had to defend TV towers in 3 waves the difficulty spiked tremendously. Took me 3 tries to beat it cause those big ass robot Brotherhood of Steel looking mechs kept destroying the towers in like 3 shots and I didn't have a chance to react fast enough.

Yeah I have the BC version of Destroy All Humans on Xbox One already (bought it and all) but I couldn't resist a full-fledged remake. I like the art direction a lot more in the remake, way more cartoony and "fun".

I remember the random difficulty spikes from the original game. It was good because they added time to the overall playthrough but also just sorta seemed like that was the only reason for them, the difficulty always spiked then dropped if I recall. Oh well, that's just part of the "old school" vibe the game gives off.

Looking forward to jumping into it again, fudgein love the old 50s era space panic theme. Stories of aliens seemed to surge hard during that time period (likely attributed to the overall paranoia of a nuclear war), and that sort of thing fascinates me to no end. And just any "alien in hiding" story really tickles me. I know they were set in two different time periods but Destroy All Humans + a few episodes of Third Rock from the Sun and that's a night I can fully enjoy.

Yeah it looks sweet. After playing SoR4 like 15 times through I'm itching to give this game a good too.

Their Twitter today came out and confirmed it. This should boost the player base considerably, especially since it will be on PC.

I wonder if it'll be like Call of Duty 2020 with constant 100GB updates.
