new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

Well, they had a whole fudging roll of bubble wrap next to it so I figured worst case, it's suspended in bubbles and gets bumped around a bit in transit.

It's obviously the smartest thing to do, but for sixty bucks, I figured it was worth a shot. All the BIN listings are way too much money, some people want like, $130 for shipping which is absofudginglutely ridiculous.
Gypsy
GameTZ Gold Subscriber Triple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally

Yeah worst case you would have got your money back eventually. I'm in the middle of dealing with that right now for an old motherboard that was basically doa. I got it to boot to bios like...once in 15+ tries. I told the seller it wouldn't boot at all because screw them, they sent me garbage.

The only way to really assure safe arrival for bigger things (this iMac is probably small enough to get safely) is to ship with a freight service which is balls expensive.

I've never had an iMac either. Didn't know it's capable of emulation. How well does it emulate?

DiamondDave
GameTZ Subscriber 350 Trade Quintuple Gold Good Trader Has Written 4 Reviews
* 25-Jul(#30)
My first emulation experience was The Legend of Zelda on a GB emulator for Macintosh! They had all the kids running around all the stations in the career center, I found the photo lab, found a mac, saw it had internet (T1 speeds!) and I went to fudging town.

These came out significantly after so I'm pretty sure they can handle early emulation. I'm sure it's not amazing but with a gig of RAM I have no doubt it'd have SNES and lower covered. But just think about it.

Golden Axe has fudging NOOOOOOOOONE. Everything moves as fast as you, angles as fast as you and has higher priority on everything than you. Unless this is just a problem for the Blue Warrior, in which case he needs to be deleted because that was frustrating as fudging crap.

I picked up a Japanese PSN card last weekend for benstylus' birthday. Due to some glitches with the email address I provided to Play-Asia, that particular surprise got spoiled. But he has Dangun Feveron now.

At first, I wasn't sure it was worth the ~$38 and subsequent hassle, but after seeing him smiling while enjoying his first shot (sorry) in years at one of his favorite Cave shooters... I can safely say it was worth it.

because nothing says "I love you" quite like buying your spouse some trippy shooter game they vaguely remember playing while in college because it's not $100 and they like it

For every time it sold for $250 + this year it has sold for $175-$200 in similar condition. Someone listed it for $90 BIN a few months ago but I missed it. That would have been a nice score. I got a copy of RayCrisis recently so I think that's the only thing I'm missing to having a complete WD set. A few are disc only though.

Well, I suppose benstylus could enjoy an ice cream sandwich while playing Dangun Feveron... #weekendproject

Kamiko's soundtrack makes me wanna play some Ninja Gaiden or Shadow of the Ninja

Hmm, listening to the NG soundtrack on youtube, I think I am thinking of the soundtrack to the 2nd game. Well, now I am wondering if I ever beat the first game.

NG? Ninja Gaiden? That first game was a dogy-dog to beat in one sitting. Second one I believe was a bit easier? I'd have to beat it again to know. Might be a good Facebook streaming project for the weekend but I'll probably perform worse than I did with NG, just because other than Stage 6 I was pretty much able to one-shot everything, I've played it so much over the years without actually beating it.

Actually, this might be a good chance for me to try a Youtube stream instead. Probably drop less frames than Facebook, they automatically cut it down to 30fps. If I do, I'll probably do a test before the weekend and have people look at it and tell me how it looks. I can probably set it up for VOD afterwards to boot. I'm sure there's some software to download, with the Facebook streaming I can go directly through ShadowPlay and I'm not sure that's an option for Youtube, but I'll dance the jig if it is.

I have tried Youtube streaming, its pretty good. Never tried FB though.

OK, I have a very good CIB copy of Rule of Rose I got recently, anyone interested for $175?

I checked HLTB and it says should be around 8 hours to beat. With my speed, will most likely take 1-2 weeks.

Once I am done, it's going up on eBay for $200+ unless it sells here first.

Let me know if anyone wants.

Can anyone see what the bottom 2 games are in the SNES pile?

Pilotwings looks right. Too blurry when zoomed to see the third.

@tonymack21 yes, the Sega love is real. I'm really looking forward to getting a release window for TJ&E4 (the Kickstarter was only for PC so I'm going to have to pony up for the brand:::Nintendo Switch version) but it'll be worth it, I'm sure.

ya love sega, we had genesis during the early to mid 90s so the middle part of my childhood was spent largely with that, we didn't have snes til we got older and got it on our own.

SEGGAAAAAA will always be my favorite opening behind that classic ps1 startup. blasphemy to some of you im sure lol

like I did with the brand:::PlayStation Portable, going to put this brand:::PlayStation up here and give this thread first go. conditions vary, some of the heavy hitters are great and some are less than great. ive had to get less picky to make gaming and collecting affordable lol.
I expect koudelka to be hot, always is, sadly it doesn't have the manual, and the cover art isn't great. ive had this game a couple times of the years and seen others and ive never seen a koudelka manual in my life other than on ebay lol, someone somewhere roll around in them like scrooge mcduck in the money bin.

conditions are on my available list, I can get pics and confirm specific details.

Azure Dreams
Beyond the beyond (disc only)
fear effect
fear effect 2
Kartia the word of fate (I thought it was world as a kid lol)
koudelka
Lok: soul reaver
Lunar SSSC (discs in custom ps2 size case with custom art and hardbound instruction book)
Lunar 2 EBC (discs in original case with hardbound manual)
Metal Gear solid
Ogre Battle march of the black queen limited ed. (disc only)
Rhapsody with soundtrack (discs only)
saga frontier
saga frontier 2
Tales of Destiny 2 (minty and nice, will have to wrestle lunar for it, work a three way trade with us to get him this one and you his if you don't care about it being spotless lol)
thousand arms (is complete, but doesn't have the stickers and hologram)

def pains me to get rid of these in a way, but space is a concern and I want to focus my physical collecting on stuff I will be able to play, and I played a lot of these back in the day and likely wont replay anytime in the next decade or two at this rate and I know here they will get good loving homes.

love to sell, helping fund kids sports, a switch and an OneX are the goals, but will def entertain trades especially from this group.

brand:::Nintendo DS may be coming next, and have some ridiculous items there too.

Sega rules.

I made a weird post awhile back about the PCE, Saturn and Dreamcast being similar consoles. They filled a different space. Kind of like Nintendo recently but you don't have the wide breadth of stuff those systems had (but Nintendo platforms are most assuredly different than the sameness that happens on PS4/XB1/PC). The PCE is obviously not by Sega, but really the Saturn feels like a spiritual successor to it.

Sega had a console that supported 640480 VGA made in 1998. Both the Genesis and the Saturn support RGB natively and it looks great. So many people have a negative conception of the Genesis looking brown because many models had poor composite which is a shame.

O man, that's a great gift. I've been on the fence about buying it, too, since I don't like buying [ricy digital games, but mayyyybe I'll drop some hints to my wife with that one lol. I was really happy with M2's work on Garegga so I imagine I'll love Dangun Feveron. Your post makes me consider just pulling the trigger (sorry) on it soon...
