Pretty sure it has been nominated before.

With the new Castlevania compilation, I thought it'd be a good time to try it again.

I also really want to revisit some of the earlier GotMs that weren't really celebrated because it was in the beginning (Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania)

I'd definitely beat Castlevania this time. Won't say how. But you know. Bloodlines, been there done that crap. Way easier imo. Also better? I may be biased, I tend to value good music over annoying gameplay, and CV had more of the latter than the former. But yeah, Bloodlines is now stupid accessible, honestly thrilled they threw it in the new collection. Wrapped it all up in a neat little package.

Honestly didn't like Luigi's Mansion.

Fire Emblem PoR if you like strategy games though the price is really rancid now. PN03 is worth playing if you never have. Ikaruga is probably still cheapest on Cube and Chibi Robo is a neat little game.

Finessed a good copy of Twin Snakes out of the three copies they had. I asked if it was okay and they didn't care. Lots of discs with the cracking issue. Grabbed Ikaruga as well and got Dragon's Lair Wii for the third game (just needed something around the same price).

Twin Snakes and Dragon's Lair are available.

Yeah, original Gamecube cases have spindles that damage games overtime. I've been finding a lot of older DVDs with that issue recently - some of the earlier Amaray case designs with the snapping spindle are atrocious.

In this case it's a manufacturing defect. They cheaped out with the paint on top and it cracks/abrades. It's a fairly known issue at this point but for anyone that wants to read more: http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid... https://www.resetera.com/threads/do-you-have-metal...

Yeah those boxes suck, they're not only too harsh on the disc, but they're also awful at holding a gamecube disc. Can't tell you how many times i got a game in the mail with the disc rattling around the box, and god forbid if it's a copy of the game without the manual.

Wish there was a better alternative, but it's hard enough to even buy CD cases in that size.

Ah I would def pay $30 at some point. The bins were all like $50+ crap when I searched. Good to know.

You can definitely play the game in Japanese. I've done it many times with SRW games. You just need to learn what everything is in the menu. After a little bit of playing you will likely have it memorized.

Nah. I think SCV4 was the easiest by a landslide, Bloodlines took me quite a bit longer with MANY more continues. The last few stages get a bit nuts, though the boss gauntlet's admittedly harder on patience than the final boss is.

TECHNICALLY Castlevania 2 is the easiest because of its inherent design choices, you just need to grind it out. It's easily the LEAST compelling out of all that I've played, so in that vein, yes, Castlevania 2 is incredibly difficult. To stay interested in.
