new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

Just try to beat it if you can. If you don't have it, use emulation, borrow it or buy it. You have a whole month to do it so shouldn't be too difficult even for the busy bees.

Well it's like Street fighter except with repeatable type combos kind of. The graphics are surprisingly good but I never played it (aka got good enough) long enough to try my hand at online play. The combos are also surprising fluid and easy to pick up despite the repeating kinda complex nature of them. I've been meaning to play it more but everytime I end up playing MKX or Super Meat Boy or Tetris on Xbox One. But you will like the challenge of it for single player. IF you like mastering combos. That's part of the fun. But again it's linking a bunch of quarter circle SF2 type specials for huge combos. There is a lot more to it than that and a deeper more complex fighting engine with plenty of timing and specific counters but I never got that far. And I haven't played any of the season 3 characters but the brand new characters in season 1 and 2 were really cool for the most part. Of course the originals were a lot cooler than they used to be as well.

It's just hard to say it's as good as SF or Mortal Kombat but it's better than most other 2d fighters for sure. And just for reference MK9 (360) is my favorite fighter all time so if you didn't like that game my positive recommendation of Killer Instinct may not mean too much. But it's definitely a worthy fighter.

Don't really need another player as my current is pretty nice and I'd have to get lucky and spend like $200-ish for a sound upgrade or $1000+ for a meaningful visual upgrade.

However, I would be interested in a list of the movies. Would trade for or buy if cheap enough.

LD is for when you want something better than VHS (by a lot) but also not as good as proper DVDs. Maybe if you accept THE CHALLENGE (of spending $8,000+) you can get it almost looking like DVD. Also you will generally pay more just to ship a LD than a BD cost. Just fun times all around really.

The good Star Wars LDs are great though. Unaltered. Also a few weird corner cases where stuff is trapped on LD (not much now honestly) and some instances of anime movies where the LD is cheaper than the oop and scalped to crap DVD.

The big thing is a lot of LD's are the best transfers of movies. Blade Runner was the best until the new UHD release.

If I see these when I'm at game shops what are the prices you want them for? There's probably a couple hundred or more nes carts at this store locally but they are just randomly in a case no order and I have to ask what each games price is. The cool thing is there may be a tiny bit of wiggle room to haggle but not a ton. For reference I was quoted 10 dollars for Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates 10 for Solomons Key and 55 for Whomp Em all 3 cart only.

Also you're looking for cart only right?

I'm just looking for whatever market value is on eBay or better. most of these are not super expensive carts or anything, with the exception of Little Samson, Flintstones 2, Frankenstein, Last Action Hero, Nobunaga II, Cliffhanger, MULE and World Champ. And yeah, looking for cart only.

Maybe we can work something out ... I know what it's like to be close to the end ... I only need 14 more TG/TGCD games left to go

I am like this with Switch like DD with every other system. I will prob reacquire it sometime. This is my second time selling the system.

Well, if you still need that Dariusburst CS LE, I'll do $100 if you take it with the Switch bundle.

Lul.

Systems are the one thing I just about always hold on to. PS4 and Sega CD are the only systems I have only one of, in fact. Counting system variants as the same thing. So I count 1 DSi and 2 DS lites as just having 3 DS systems.

@sharif okay I'll see what they have no promises but hopefully they have at least one or two and they're reasonable.
