When I wrote them yesterday I was feeling really jaded about the WWE, as you can probably tell. I'm glad somebody reads them, as I guarantee the majority of people who participate don't

Tash- you forgot about the Orlando Jordan/Benoit match...
Now onto the JBL in Germany deal....
In late May/early June last year, WWE was on a tour of Europe. The hot feud at the time was WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero and JBL. Eddie had lost to JBL at Judgment Day by DQ, so it appeared the feud would continue until the Great American Bash. At one point in Germany they were having a match and to get heat from the crowd, JBL started doing the "Hiel Hitler" and "Goose-stepping" around the ring. This of course infuriated a bunch of people in the arena on a particularly touchy subject.
This led to national media attention, who promptly blasted the WWE and JBL. JBL, at the time was working on CNBC as a financial/stock analyst. Hearing of the news, CNBC quickly fired him. Then there were reports on every news station, and many people claimed it was against the law in Germany to do such a thing. Apparently it wasn't, but since JBL was such a talked about and controversial commodity at the time, Vince put the belt on him at GAB, despite the fact that early reports were said to have him lose cleanly to Eddie, who was supposed to go into a program with Kurt Angle following that.

The guy has just gone up in respect from me. You have got to have a ton of balls to do that, let alone in effin' Germany!

Granted, it's not certain that was the sole reason he got the belt, but I personally believe it played a big part in the decision.
WWE/Vince loves controversy, especially when it comes to their superstars.
Remember the Superbowl controversy over GoDaddy.com Ho Candice Michelle? The night after the superbowl, they had to cart her out there
And shortly after the controversial Monday Night Football segment where Terrel Owens and some girl from Desperate Housewives were in a racy segment the WWE did their own.
The Bret/Vince controversy was greatly exploited.
When Sargeant Slaughter portrayed the "Iraqi Sympathizer" during the Gulf War, the media blasted WWE, who then proceeded to let Slaughter win the WWF Championship from Ultimate Warrior.
Just looking at the past, makes me think WWE will want to atleast give Muhammad Hassan a main-event push. I'm not sure though, he still could be considered by management as too young.
Since you haven't watched Smackdown lately, have you heard of the Muhammad Hassan controversy?

JBL claimed that he wasn't the only one who did that, as he says that Triple H has done it before, and its common practice to get heat in Germany. So I don't know who to believe, though the media was very biased when it came to those reports

Torrie Wilson vs. Melina
I'm not sure if Torrie ever lost a bra and panties match yet but I'll go with you guys and pick Melina. Torrie is sooo 2001
MNM vs. Animal and Heidenreich
Animal is fat now. And I know Hawk is dead ( ) but the L.O.D. (or Road Warriors, whatever) will always be remembered as Hawk and Animal, not as Heidenreich and Animal, or Hawk, Animal and Droz.
Christian vs. Booker T
Of course I must pick a fellow captain
Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan
I don't know how or why they decided to give that belt to Orlando Jordan anyway, or even why they let him keep it more than a week. Benoit needs it. He has gone nowhere since losing the belt to Randy Orton last year and its almost like the writers forgot how over he was leading up to WMXX.
Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio
I have a feeling they will finally let Eddie win one against Mysterio this time. Why else would Eddie take the time to hack Rey's webpage?
The Undertaker vs. Muhammed Hassan
I think WWE is mental enough to have a hated mad arabian guy beat a loved wrestler like 'Taker at a PPV called Great American Bash.
Batista vs. J.B.L.
Probably the one match on the card where I just don't care about who wins.
The Mexicools vs. blue WORLD order
I like The Mexicools, and I like the bWo but I would rather have seen Paul London get a PPV match. |

UPN has told WWE that they do not want the Muhammed Hassan character on their network again.
Hassan has been kept off WWE television for the last two weeks ever since they aired footage of him and a terror cell on the same day as the London attacks.

Not if the WWE wants UPN to yank SD off the air immediately. I'm sure they're not stupid.
