At my Frys Store they had Both Dreamcast and Ps2 Side by Side playing the same game >> Dreamcast beat Ps2 hands down the Ps2 Grapix looked like bad digi N64 The Dreamcast was sharp Movielike
I am Veryg lad the Hype Dreamcast will be much avail now thanks to the people at Sony..

If you compare the Unrealt ternament on DC and Unreal Turnament onP2 hads down PS2 wins
sony is going to realse a 30gig hard drive along with a ethernet connection
so we sill see who wins this race
MGS and Armored core2 look awsomeas well as keesn and bouncer

Another thing, I dont care about graphics. Graphics mean nothing to me. A system can still be cool to me if its graphics are bad if it has fun games. |

by the time PS2 gets any good games out, meaning the time developers figure the dumb system out...GAMECUBE and X-box will be out. Developers will say screw PS2 and lets go to systems that can produce great stuff with less effort! |

If you compare PC Unreal Tournament to PS2 unreal tournament PC beats hands down. Plus you can have more than 4 bots playing lol! And no networked Unreal Tournament? that's gotta suck.... |

I haven't seen the a game on both the CD and PS2, but I must say I am not impressed with the graphics of the PS2 at all, it is performing at only 6% (yes, 6%) of the number of polygons Sony said it could, and that is 6% max, most developers have only gotten 2-3% so far. Oh well, I guess I am going to resell mine (I actually bought mine on Friday, I didn't prebuy or anything, I was picking up the new Zelda game and KB Toys had plenty of of PS2s available so I got one so I could sell it at the very least if I wasn't impressed).

SuperSaiyanJinGoten, the only supposedly good thing about the system was that it had good graphics. There are a few good games, but most of them look(and play) like trash. |

Wow a 30 gig hard drive for ps2? Sounds like another way to thief peoples money to me. How many people are even going to buy that? And I'm no computer game fan by any means but how fun can it be to play 2-player unreal? Well unless you want to spend the $35 for a multi-tap that is. Same problem psx had. No one will make multiplayer games for ps2 cuz noone is dumb enough to spend $35 for a multitap. |

Have you people seen the "PS9" commercial - it's pretty cool, but after I watched it I wanted te PS9 and not the PS2.

what you expect from a console that just came out ? you think its easy to program for a system ? i bet ALL systems didnt have good graphics when it first came out...but once programmers/developers got use to the hardware and software of the system...they started to use the full potential of the system...look at Ridge Racer [the first one] for the PSX compared to Ridge Racer Type 4...look at the graphics wise..and that was 3-5 years later...so before you say how PS2 graphics suck..which was released not too long ago [im talking about the US version...the Jap version doesnt concern us] think about the graphics of the DC when it first came out..and dont forget that programming for the PS2 is a bit hard so you have to give them time to find codes for the system....thats enough of my rant

Actually when DOA2 came out for the DC, and Soul Calibur (which was a launch title) They were incredible and still are by any PS2 standard, DOA2 for the DC is much smoother than the PS2 version and tecmo had longer to work on the ps2 version and fix any (which were very few by the way) problems, and that didnt even help it. Tekken tag is nice but isnt the monster that Sony and Namco claimed it would be, Point in case, It hasnt lived up to the "DC killer" title and promise by Sony and it Developers. It's a shame too considering they watched exactly what Sega Did and had plenty of time to plan ahead. Will it Improve, oh yes indeed it will. But for now.. They let alot of gamers down.

Okay ill do you one better, Sega has Already gotten gamers back and Nintendo will as well, I think Sony has their work cut out for them not to mention the X Box (which by no means do i give a rats butt about, but it will be a factor no doubt). We'll see then what Sony can do, Till then gamers win in the end cause of all the great software out there. |

If the hard drive for the ps2 ever sees the light of day on this side of the pacific I will be shocked. Just ask sega about trying to sell add-ons for systems. I am sure I will get one sooner or later but for right now my $500 is better spent on dc games. NFL 2k1, NBA2k1, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Tony Hawk 2, Grandia 2 and Marine fishing are plenty to keep me and my dc busy for quite some time. Bottom line is ps2 don't suck but is far from the dreamcast killer people said it would be. |

I remember when the Playstation came out and everyone said how horrible it was, turns out it has been the most succesful console ever. Seems like whenever a new system comes out everyone dogs it. Genesis, SNES, Playstation, Dreamcast, and now the PS2. It's the same as it's always has been. When the X-Box and the Gamecube come out it'll be the same thing once again. |

sorry dudes. PS2 is a huge disappointment. The games suck. I thought armored core 2 might be good, but nope. Even Kessen which is the only game i was looking forward too isn't very fun. I'll take shenmue and skies and phantasy star online anyday. Sony didn't do anything they claimed they would. |

you have to think though
even if you dont like the ps2 you still got a dvd player
and these are just first gen games for it and graphics arent everything
what it all comes down to is how fun it is......granted they may not be fun yet but give them time
and im not bashing the dc i have one and i love it.....and actually at this point i think it has a great chance win the race
but just give it a while
i dont know about all this hard drive stuff though |

I like my DC, but PS2 doesn't completely suck, in fact I am looking forward to see how the PS2 holds up. More competition means better games (especially if they are from Sega's first parties, hehe).
And ooooh that GameCube is nifty....
