hmm, I was supposed to send the money order on saturday but since I marked the trade as both send immediately and he said he wouldnt be able to ship until monday, I delayed sending it off to him.
I guess I will message him and see whats up before I even think about sending the money order. |

No im not sending the money. We had this trade pending since friday, so obviously he is trying to rip us off if he accepted your money for it saturday.

why not just let him have the paypal-- and see if he sends the ps3-- no sense in canceling a trade if you still want the ps3. As long as shaun didnt send the money order out technically the trade still involves 1 person. But then again if hes shady enough to make 2 trades-- he prob wont honor the trade and send the ps3 out-

The chargeback would be through your credit card company, not Paypal. It would leave you on the hook for a max of $50, usually not even, from what I understand.
Paypal will bitch and moan at you and most likely shut down ur account if you do a chargeback. In reality, Paypal offers no real protection for anything beyond eBay purchases, which is partially why everyone rags on them all the time. However, consumer credit laws are in place to protect you against this sort of thing when you use your credit card. It basically removes you, the consumer, from the process and makes the credit card company and Paypal to fight over where and how to get the money back.
Good luck; here's to hoping this is just a screw-up of some sort and not anything serious. |

Well obviously you don't want to do a chargeback if you actually receive the goods. That would constitute fraud and put u in some pretty hot water as well.
Through Paypal, the most you can do is file a claim and hope they rule in your favor, but if this guy is truly a scammer, he'll have emptied the money from his Paypal account and that leaves you with jack. It's why Paypal basically sucks if anything goes wrong; barring an honest mistake, unless a scammer leaves the money in his PAYPAL account, Paypal doesn't give you crap. They send you a sorry letter and that's basically it.
I'm not sure what the statue of limitations is on chargebacks, but it should be 30 days or something decently long. You certainly don't want to wait for forever, but as soon as things look irreversibly irreparable, it would be prudent to get on it. Pretty sure if you just explain your situation, someone on the other end will be able to help out.
It's a tough spot to be in; you certainly don't want to jump the gun and make a bigger mess of things, but the circumstances certainly do not look good and you don't want to be played for a fool. I'd give it a few days, maybe a week, to see how everything plays out; maybe he'll explain himself or something. However, barring a turn for the better, just count yourself lucky that you paid with a credit card and there are laws in place to help you recover your money.
Had you paid via Paypal balance or an Instant Transfer, you would probably be crap out of luck, but that's another topic.

people like this should be forever banned from GTZ-- theres no chance he will ever pend a reputable trade ever again. Its a detriment to all the honest traders on this site and TGN. |

BTR is up for the 360 trade so if I were you id file a report asap if you sent him money....
MARIO323....its fine to trade bigger items just do your homework and dont send first if they are not highly established....if your not highly established then get established with smaller trades.....

the dude literally refuses to read all the aim messages i sent him.
I just put up a resolution on paypal.
I will be also calling in my credit card company.
I am still wondering what I should say. Will they do a charge back for me tho since I paid through paypal. |
