No. Reggie has made it clear that there are no plans to release MOTHER3 in the US, and the whole trilogy thing was just a big rumor from years ago. With an R4 (for EarthBound Zero and EarthBound, there are NES and SNES emulators for the R4) and an EZ-Flash 3 in 1, you can play all of them on a DS.
Though I much prefer playing the actual games; the experience is much better on a system instead of a computer. I hated EarthBound until I played it on my SNES a year ago. Worth every penny. Liked it so much I needed it portable, and bought MOTHER 1 + 2 off play-asia. I beat MOTHER 2, but I can't recommend MOTHER 1 + 2 cause, unlike in MOTHER3 (which was easy to beat in Japanese, even if you're like me and know none), there are no item pictures, so it gets very annoying trying to figure out what's what. I played the MOTHER3 English translation and loved it, so I bought the MOTHER3 Deluxe Box.
starmen.net should have everything you need to know.
bottom line: play it on a DS, emulation ruins the games. and no there is not going to be a trilogy. |
