I preordered Ninja Gaiden from ebgames.com and I still haven't gotten it yet. I call and they tell me it shipped on the 2nd and expected delivery date is the 18th. Only reason I chose the cheap method is cause I had exactly $52 credit from trade in and didnt want them charging my cc. |

They're probably feeding you a line of crap. Whereas First Class usually takes 2-4 days depending on location and distance, Media Mail usually takes 4-6 days. I use Media Mail all the time and I've had packages show up in 3 days and others in 8 days. 16 days means they probably didn't ship on the 2nd or they used another, slower method. Check the postmark when it arrives. |

I did the exact same thing. I got mine on March 6th. So did everyone else I know who preordered with super saver shipping. Whenever I order from them with super saver shipping, it's always taken 4 days or less.

For the record, on their site, they dont claim to use media mail (although that's the way the y always ship to me). They simply say that your order will arrive in "6 - 12 days."

Yeah, figured as much. I doubt many companies try and use Media Mail for shipping. That's why I suggested that they perhaps "used another, slower method" or "didn't ship on the 2nd". |

Yeah I was wondering cause Sportbettor once sent me a package media mail from California and it only took a few days. |

Oh and its funny cause I ordered a different game with 2 day shipping that comes out the 16th so I'll probably get both games on the same day. |

Media mail has only taken 3-4 days in my experience. |

It could take that long. I'm currently in a trade with fum171, and, despite him saying on two different times that he mailed, the last time he mailed was Feb 30th. I still haven't recieved it, and I do believe he sent it either media mail, or first class. That is, if he actually sent it at all.
I've seen media mail stuff take a long time in the past though. It's a horrible method.

Very strange how people's Media Mail experiences are different. I've used it maybe 60-70 times between GTZ and work and it almost never takes more than a week, usually around 4 days -- and I'm in one corner of the country too. I wonder if people not sending when they say they sent is the real culprit. |

The longest media mail has taken me (from NY - another "corner" of the country) is about 8 days, and that was the exception. Most deliveries, except for coast-to-coast (CA, et al) were in the 4 day range.
It seems that some people have wicked bad experiences with media mail. I'm glad I've been fortunate, both sending and receiving. I would hate to have to start using Priority Mail all the time (since PC games are rarely under the first-class 13-ounce weight limit) -- I would likely stop trading all together than spend that kind of $$$ for trading older games.

That might be your problem, actually. The post office equipment probably got confused when he sent it on a non-existent day. It's caught in some temporaral disturbance.

Media mail takes up to a month to get to and from Hawaii. When I tell people that, they get all offended. It's so irritating, especially with the ebay crowd. They can't understand why I don't ship via media mail. Same thing with people here and other trade sites. Media Mail is just unacceptable to me.

Now *that* is a good reason not to use media mail, and one I would accomodate if I was making a trade. Personally, I won't trade with somebody who isn't patient enough to wait the 3 to 6 days media mail takes - because I'm not going to shell out a ton of extra $$$ so somebody can get something a day or two earlier. However, if a shipping service takes a month to get somewhere (and it taking a month to/from Hawaii makes perfect sense), then I would be happy to pay the extra $$$, as I don't think it is unreasonable (patience has its limits!)
Good to know, BTW. Although it seems obvious now that you've said it (media mail would probably go by s-l-o-w cargo ships), I wasn't aware of the lag until you mentioned it.
