Welcome to the Christmas in July" GameTZ Secret Santa. (Changes from the last SS will be in bold) We will be using a subtime "bond" to encourage people to follow through on sending. If someone gets stiffed on a gift, at least they will get something. Anyone without a BTR is eligible to sign up. If you don't have at least a  , you will have to put up double the bond. Everyone will signup in one of three pools: United States, Canada, and Anywhere. Signups for the US and Canada pools are limited to users in that country, respectively. Everyone else must signup in the Anywhere pool. Residents of the US and Canada may signup in the Anywhere pool if international shipping is not a problem. Everyone will be assigned a partner from their own pool.
Everyone must put up 8 weeks subtime. (16 weeks if less than ) If you don't have that much, someone else can put it up for you. You will get one week (two weeks if less than ) back when you provide a valid tracking number that proves you've sent, and you will get the rest back when your partner receives. Signups are open now and will continue until June 30. Partners will then be assigned and mailed out. There will be weekly reminder e-mails sent to those whose partners have not received. Items must be received by July 31. At that time, anyone who hasn't received will receive one-quarter of his/her Santa's subtime bond. If a gift still isn't received after one week (August 7) another quarter will be awarded. If yet another week passes (August 14) the remaining half will be sent. Sending and receiving will be tracked through the signup site. It is very important that you update the site as soon as you send and receive so the subtime bond can be handled appropriately.
The target gift value is $10-20 US. Gifts MUST be worth at least $10 US not including shipping. Every effort should be made to send a complete item. If you are sending something used, it should be in at least "very good" condition. This is not a way to unload your unwanted crap. Look at your partner's wants and check his/her lists and posts. Put the same effort into selecting a gift for your partner that you would want someone else to put into yours. Make sure you provide adequate "wants" for your Santa. There should be at least 4-5 things on your list that fit in the target range. If your partner has inadequate "wants", don't just give up and stiff him/her. Just get a gift card to Walmart or something like that.
WARNING
People suck. Despite our best efforts, I guarantee there will be people who will get stiffed. If you don't intend to follow through on your commitment here, please do not sign up.
I'm sure the moderators will keep a close eye on this thread. Please keep discussion here about the SS, so things don't out of hand like in the past.

Signup at http://gtzss.cyg-net.com and send your subtime bond to me. Just posting here will not get you in. Please use your GameTZ username when you signup. This makes it easier for your Santa to find your list. All of the accounts from the last SS are still there. If you participated in the last SS, just log in and update your information, checking the "participating" box as you do. If you have forgotten your password, use the link on the front page to request a new one.
When you get your gift post here and log in to http://gtzss.cyg-net.com and indicate that you have received.
My current subtime will carry me to September 2005, so all can rest assured that we won't have the same problem with the bonds that we've had before. If you have any questions, send me an e-mail or post here.

D'oh! Only have 4 weeks subtime left, myself.
Still got a few weeks to get more though I guess.

I might be a bit late on this since I won't get my next "good" check
until the third or 4th week in July. But I might get other cash sometime
before then.

I got a problem though. I can't get my old password because I changed internet providers. So when I went to reset it, it probably is sending it to my old address, sinnie@bellsouth.net
I tried to make a new one but it wouldn't let me.
Todd can you change my emails or something? I sent my bond.

if I join, I won't be able to send my partner's gift until after July 1st as I'll be on vacation from June 24th to the 1st. I'd send sooner, but I would like to save up as much money as possible before I go to Tennessee.

Anyone who has an active BTR when signups are close will have his/her bond returned and will be set to inactive. |

If they are resolved there shouldn't be an issue.
I'd contact the moderators though, about JCleav. Jcleav101 says: "read the btr i put up." in his rating.
BTR's cannot be left up as punishment. If he got his item, completed the trade and rated you he must remove the BTR.

Cygnus, I think it may be a good idea to clarify whether the "$10" minimum includes shipping charges or not... some people may consider shipping as part of their "gift".... |
