Thought I'd see if there was enough interest here to do one of these. Basically, you fill out a 10x10 grid with names, and winners are determined by the score after each quarter of the game. I'll explain in more detail below.
How it works:
Each participant will be able to choose 5 squares for your name to be placed in. After each quarter of the game, a winner will be chosen by the final score. For example, if the score after the first quarter is LSU: 10, OSU: 7, the winner for that quarter will be the person who is in the square 7 across, 0 down. Since I'm allowing everyone to pick their squares, I will wait until all squares are filled until I put in the numbers randomly.
Rules:
- You must commit a prize to enter. The value of the prize must be at least $10; ideally between $10-$20. The prize can be anything game or movie related.
- When you post, please say which game/movie item you will be committing along with what 5 squares you want. Check the pool or prize list beforehand to make sure the numbers you want aren't already taken.
- The 4 winners will take turn taking prizes. The order of prize picking will be final score, halftime, 1st quarter, 3rd quarter.
- 1 entry per person.
Prizes:
1. OuTrAgE - Magical Starsign DS (2, 5, 22, 27, 85)
2. mackey - Brain Age 2 DS (7, 14, 21, 28, 35)

The easiest way to select prizes is to probably rank them in the order you'd want them, then PM that to me. Or, if you'd rather not do that because your decision might depend on what games you've already gotten, I'll message you whenever its your time to pick with what prizes are available.
The order of prize selecting is 1) mmm40x, 2) Bruce_34, 3)dragonwarriorfan, 4) kzn.

Apparently. There's nothing like screaming at your tv, desperately wanting a safety within the next 30 seconds.

Ok i got 2 questions for ya,
So does it start at 1. The if no one scores it goes 0 and 0 so the winner would be 1. Using your example (LSU-10, OhioSt-7), the winner would be #8. Is that right?
Would Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2) be a worthy prize? Its also non-greatest hits | SEspo
| | #15 posted December 30, 2007 at 1:45pm (EDT) |
No. After all the numbers are filled, then he picked the numbers to be used. | Wippy_J

OK I dont follow | OuTrAgE

| | #17 posted December 30, 2007 at 2:04pm (EDT) |
The numbers in the OSU row and LSU column will be randomly picked after the game is full.
 | Wippy_J

| | #18 posted December 30, 2007 at 2:20pm (EDT) |
Ok then how does the 10 spot work? As a 0?
Are our picking of the squares random then or is there a scoring strategy involved? | OuTrAgE

| | #19 posted December 30, 2007 at 2:22pm (EDT) |
It goes by the last number. So if LSU scored 20, it would be 0.
And, yes, we're basically picking random sqaures right now so it's even. Everybody likes picking their favorite numbers though.

i'd be willing t play but dont understand how u win. your example confuses me. i dont understand how the score being 10-7 1st quarter equals square 7 across 0 down. i dunno, i dont get it but would like to play but would like to understand so i could pick squares i want. | Pyramid_Party

i read up a few posts and understand that its a random game and has nothing to do with scores right? so this is more like a lottery? if so, then ill enter. i want numbers: 8, 19, 47, 80 and 96. ill contribute Myst III: Exile (MAC, Complete), & Riven: The Sequel to Myst (MAC, Complete) - if thats acceptable. | refloc
| #40 posted January 1, 2008 at 12:08pm (EDT) edited January 1, 2008 at 12:08pm (EDT) |
yes the score has everything to do with it.... the random part is where he will be putting the numbers after all the squares are filled.
am i right? | | |
