I become completely entranced watching these shows. Talk about gripping television.
Plus, I keep hoping I'll see Vern on there and he'll get Stone Phillips autograph for me.

I hate that show. It was alright at first, to make a point, but it's overstayed its welcome IMO. I'm really tired of all the hype and sensationalism about the dangers lurking in the shadows of the internet. Also, it would have been way more relevant 10 years ago. This isn't a new thing anymore.
It irks me to think of all the air time NBC devotes to this programming, and how it could be devoted to actual journalism instead.

After seeing one of my roommate's friends get busted under similar pretenses, I feel that this the current system is flawed. He was 20, the supposed "girl" claimed to be 17. That's legal in neighboring Illinois, but not Wisconsin. Thus, I will always feel very skeptical of statutory rape charges. |

I'd love to be the lawyer that finds the hole in this show's presentation, pursues it, and sues the pants off NBC. I don't think these guys they catch are right, but I believe there's some issue in how the show goes about catching them. Ok so they act like they are a child or young teen, but there's much more psychology behind it and that's not presented in the show.

Some lawyer did get a couple of these guys off. Because the person they were chatting with was not under age. Everyone at perverted justice is 18+. Therefore. they did nothing illegal. |

attempted crimes are still crimes in some cases.
In any event, what these people need is not prison, it's a mental institution.

I think the shows hilarious. Stupid pedophiles get their faces shown nationwide. Pedophiles should be killed. If someone enjoys having sex with children you cannot help them or fix them. If they get out it's a countdown til they do it again. These people do not deserve second chances. Rapists as well. |

It's attitudes like that which are keeping them the way they are.
The way we treat sex offenders in this country is inhumane. Someone makes one big mistake, they're branded as subhuman for literally the rest of their lives, regardless of the circumstances. We make it impossible for them to find a place to live, to find a job, to live a normal fudging life.
What choice do they have but to repeat their mistakes? If no one is willing to try and help them change, all they will ever have is what they already know.
And even if they can't be helped or fixed, it's possible we can still learn from them in order to try and prevent the problem in future cases.

I say once we figure out cloning we round up all the sex offenders drop them on some huge island, find the perfect jailbait specimen, clone her 5k times and drop them on the island. Eventually they would start killing each other for food and that would be the end of it. And the girl that was cloned, she's fine. |

My attitude towards them does not keep them the way they are. That makes absolutely no sense. I want them to die so that makes them like violating children. That's stupid.
Inhumane how we treat them?? Would you want someone who got out of prison being able to go get a job at a daycare? These people ruin other peoples lives at a young age. Do you realize how many kids who are molested end up killing themselves. I feel sorry for them, not the piece of crap who violated them. Yes I believe pedophiles have no right to live. They will not change. Molestation is not a mistake it's an inhumane and evil violation of another person. Molestation/rape in my opinion, are the worst crimes. Not only do they physically violate someone but it mentally torments them. I feel sorry for the victims, fudge the pedophiles I hope they die.
I have 2 young daughters so yes these people do strike a chord with me. I love my children so much and I never want them to endure the torment these people force upon people. And if the law has to take the measures that it does that you claim as 'inhumane' in order to help me know the people in my areas or working where I do then good.
Oh yeah, my job doesn't allow pedophiles to work there in order to protect customers because we work around their homes and in their yards. I feel that's the right thing to do. |

Yeah rape/molestation is a violent crime. And these kinda people would have to be fudgeed in the head to have thought of and acted on a crime towards kids. I like the "to catch a predator" show. Its funny 1st of all, and i think theyre doing a good job rounding up these guys.

I don't really know if these guys should be killed...I say throw em in the prison's general population, though, and let the inmates know what their in for

Yeah that's a good idea! Unfortunately they get their own cells and oddly are treated better than general population. I'm sure the guards talk trash to them and all but they do get placed in a better spot |

In Prisons though, they can find ways to get to people if they want them dead bad enough. Sometimes even mistakes are made and the guy will be put in general population on accident. And on some occasions the mistake ended up turning deadly.

Back on the topic of the show, it's really just an exploitation of the "predators". Calling it a public service is a bit of an overstatement, if anything it makes the "predators" more careful about how they do their business not the other way around. The whole idea of Chris Hansen delving into predators minds like he's Christopher Columbus is really just a ruse, every interview goes about the same. What were you planning on doing? Just hanging out. You had condoms in your pocket and you expect me to believe that? I gotta watch for you Mr. Munson, ya got me I was gonna bang the bejesus out of that 15 year old girl. Or. Yeah we were just gonna hang out. Then they get arrested same ol' same ol'.
I enjoy watching it personally because it makes for good TV and NBC knows it. |
