He's hurt and not playing today. He's so amazing though. He's always been my favorite player because around 1995 was when I really started getting into baseball hardcore. The Braves are my favorite team in any professional sport. I actually got to go to Game 1 on the '95 series.

That's not an option. You can hate the Mets all you like, but liking the Yankees doesn't equate to hating the Mets, it equates to having no soul.
I put the "huh?" in there because you said that Red Sox or other NL East fans like the Yankees. From what I understand, and from every person I talk to, only the most soulless and heartless of human beings like the Yankees.

nope, I'm a Braves fan and I'd pull for the Yankees EVERY time they played the mets. Where I'm from , liking the Mets is not an option. |

When the Braves play the Yankees, I pray for both teams to internally combust on field. Where I'm from, we hate everybody.

I'm a huge Braves fan, so I obviously hate the Mets with an extreme passion. My hatred for the Yankees however, will never be passed by any other team. The Yankees are the cancer of baseball, and I get furious even when I think about them. I would not be upset if their entire team died, honestly.

I'm with you Alex I have the same feeling about the Braves as you do with the Mets (I think everyone in the NL East despises each other) BUT I often 'joke' to people that the best thing that could happen in sports would be the Yankees plane crashing. Sounds horrible, yes, but it's the Yankees, and their fans are soulless anyway.

I lived in Boston for a while. Red Sox nation is amazing. They have always been my 2nd favorite team (probably because they're the only team that hates the Yankees as much as I do).

i'd think they hate the braves more... come'on 14 consec leagues... but I fear the phillies this year my friend... |

Yeah, but the Mets really weren't that spectacular in that time, so it's not like they could hate us that much. The rivalry didn't grow as strong until there was an actual race (similar to how the Sox/Yankees has grown stronger) because there's actually a competition and you don't know who is going to win each year. I, obviously, dislike the Phillies, but it's nowhere near my hatred of the Yanks or Mets.

The Phillies bats mad good but their pitching will not carry them to the playoffs. Our pitching is way better than theirs and once our bats get going to give some run support than we will be ok
|
Feeb

| | #33 posted May 16, 2008 at 11:41pm (EDT) |
nope, sorry, your starting pitching is better, but that doesn't really matter with bats like they have; they have the best bullpen in the MLB. |

Phillies will win the NL East, Braves get the WC, that's my prediction. Braves could make a run for it when we get some guys back from injuries.

Are Houston and Texas supposed to throw down these kinds of numbers...that under bet on 11 was totally fudgeed by the 4th.
24 total, that has to be the highest score this season so far for a game |

| #36 posted May 16, 2008 at 11:55pm (EDT) edited May 16, 2008 at 11:55pm (EDT) |
Both have no pitching, so it's to be expected. Plus it's baseball, you have to know by now how unpredictable it is.
The Reds are atrocious this season, yet they somehow took down the Indians who have been stellar as of late. This isn't the NBA.

Care to make a $5 wager that the Braves will finish with a better record than the Mets?
