Damn Wii fit... it calculated my BMI and said I was a 29.90 = obese. I'm 5-11 200 and a decent build. Eat crap wii fit. To top that all off... it wouldn't let me set my "goal" BMI anywhere near "fit" after trying to lose 30 lbs!! Lol.... every time I step on the balance board, this little painful moan sounds; I almost SPILLED MY BEER!

This fudgeer ain't fat friendly!

I think doctors say BMI over 30 is obese or overweight. But being made in Japan it's probably obese for them.
If you hate your Wii Fit give it to me *raspberry*

Yeah, my BMI is actually 24. That's why it's funny. Maybe the beer i hold while i ski jump makes me that top heavy?

Maybe in Japan you're fatter. Not sure. I have heard similar complaints, but it's still fun. Kind of enforces anorexia though don't it?

There was a similar discussion awhile back on the "merits" of BMI. It's an archaic, inaccurate reading based solely on a person's height and weight without consideration for muscle tone, bone structure, or natural build. Ignore it.

I don't see how Wii Fit could miscalculate your BMI though, given that you give that you input your height and your weight is taken by the scale (unless you input the wrong height or the scale is broken).

BMI is terrible.

Everyone knows muscle is heavier than fat, so it'd be very inaccurate for anyone with atleast a decent build.

Yeah, I understand the concept >>>Doctor<<<< maybe i was off or something, i never tried to recalibrate it. it gave my wife a 22... JOY!!!! imagine the lecture i got as i tried to finish my ever warming bud light... fudging nintendo fat doctors.

It's really not healthy for kids (or fat people...or anyone else) to try and lose 30 lbs in 2 weeks....lol.

it really did moan at me though... when i got on the board.

**Measured my height... I'm actually 5'-11" and a half..... may help me feel a little less obeser.

OMG, one pound of fat is equal to one pound of muscle. Muscle doesn't weight more than fat, it's just denser.

Yes, but that does imply that more weight takes less space; therefore Pervaan has a valid observation as well. *smile*

Correct, if he was referring to the volume the tissue takes up, then sure, it's a valid point, but I'm so tired of that old say "Muscle weighs more than fat"

How much does a bucket of fat weigh compared to a bucket of muscle, or crap?

BMIs are only accurate for most, but not all, sedentary people. for example, Ronnie Coleman has a BMI of near 50. Hes 42 years old, 5'10", weights 315, has only 5% body fat but according to his BMI hes morbidly obese. If I remember correctly BMI is your bodys weight in kilograms divided by meters squared. Thing is though, that it was never intended to diagnose anything so Nintendo can pretty much go Eff itself.

Actually, based on what you've told us, your BMI is 27.9 (at 5' 11" and 200 pounds).

It is 27.5 at 5' 11.5". *smile*

I lied. wii fit says 29. EDIT Wii fit now says 30... It thinks I weigh 215 today. Broken i think? I also weighed 195 on my scales at the clinic.
You're right based on the math.
