Dudes..I'm not anti-work or anything, like I said I just don't want a job that would tie me down right now. I'm all for working, just very temporary stuff.
And yeah, I've pretty much ran dry the whole selling business. |

go to a walmart, drop a bottle of apple juice on the floor and have him tell someone about it. before they put the sign up but after they tell, slip on it and injure yourself. go to a doctor complaining about back pains, get a lawyer, settle out of court. |

There are various work assistance programs around here that have summer job boards and the one option they have is the "odd job squad", you sign up for the service and see what you are qualified to do and at the beginning of the day you call in and see what jobs are available for the day, ie. mowing lawns, cleaning garages, babysitting, etc. You don't have to do it on a regular basis, just whenever you feel like working. See if there are any similar programs available in your area. |

Geez..okay, so would you say that mowing lawns for money is a bad thing? That's all I'm asking for - a way to make money by WORKING, just not a job. I'm not trying to find ways to get free money. No need to be insulting.
Edit: That was directed towards the other guys except seanner. I don't think we have an 'odd job' deal here. If we did I'd jump on it. |

If that were possible, nobody would have a job, yet everyone would have money. Sounds like your only options are those of a middle schooler - mow lawns or babysit.

Well..yeah, patience. I'm not trying to make a living off this, just a few bucks here and there. It can still be considered a job I suppose, I was just meaning job as in working at a grocery store or whatever. Mowing lawns is a great example of what I'm looking for - but considering it's been 100+ degrees here almost every day for the past couple weeks I'd rather not mow. If it gets cooler, then sure. But I was hoping someone would have an idea of other jobs like that. Wasn't really expecting people to jump all over me based on assumptions. |

I know what you're saying, I'm just saying there's not that many options. If I were you, I'd get a part time job waiting tables or something 2-3 nights per week. You'll still have plenty of time off and for the time and skills required, waiting tables is usually the most money per hour if you work in a decent restaurant.

Yep. Depending on the laws of your state, you won't be allowed to handle beer bottles (even empty ones)... and it helps to be an attractive female (can't imagine why), but plenty of restaurants around here hire young kids, especially in the summer. Bonus points if you can get a job in a touristy place.

Ah. Well I'm certainly not an attractive female (lol) and I don't exactly live in a touristy place, but I might as well check out local restaurants anyway. Thanks for the idea. |

You're 16. It's summer time and school is out. Is it really that hard to bag groceries for 3-4 days a week for 5-6 hours? |

Thing is, I hate grocery stores. That's why I'm trying to find odd jobs. Pretty much the only place to work around here is grocery stores and fast-food places. It's not because it's hard, it's because it's not something I'd like to do, and thankfully, don't have to. It's not because I'm lazy. As stated multiple times, I would still be working doing something else. Even harder stuff. Just temporarily.
And as for yardwork Guy, like I said it's been 100+ degrees here every day for the past couple weeks. Not real eager to get into that. =P If it hits 90, I'll probably go for it. |
