Post your fantasy team and bring the smack talk. I guess advising others would also be ok.
ESPN Standard Scoring: 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1RB/WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF, 6BENCH <-- Notice no 2RBs!
13 players, I had the first pick.
Starters
QB: A. Rogers, GB #27 - He looks good!
RB: A. Peterson, MIN #1 - I hate having the first pick, but I don't think anyone should pass on A. Peterson.
WR: S. Smith, CAR #28 - I'm nervous about him, but he's proven to be a stud in the past.
WR: D. Bowe, KC #55 - No T. Gonzalez means lot of redzone attention for him.
WR/RB: S. Holmes, PIT #81 - I'll switch between him and E. Royal depending on who they play.
TE: J. Witten, DAL #54 - My #1 TE, but the 3rd taken in our draft. I actually likes D. Clark too, but no TO should be a good thing.
K: S. Gostkowski, NE #136 - My #1 kicker.
DEF/ST: Vikings, MIN #109 - Not my 1st choice, but they shouldn't give up many points.
Bench
M. Cassel, KC #135 - He was there at pick 135. I had to take him. Then again, I now have two players from KC.
W. McGahee, BAL Added after week #1.
C. Taylor, MIN #108 - A. Peterson's hanydcap. A stretch at 108, but I couldn't let anyone else have him.
R. Mendenhall, PIT #162 - I know, I'm weak at RB depth. But, I have A. Peterson, and you only NEED to start one RB.
E. Royal, DEN #82 - Picked back to back with S. Holmes. I don't know who I'll actually start.
Z. Miller, OAK
Added
W. McGahee, BAL Picked up afer Week 1
Z. Miller, OAK Picked up to fill in for J. Witten. He had 16 points, amazing! I still lost though. I blaim S. Smith, CAR.%
Dropped
B. Scaife, TEN Just making room for W. McGahee. I actually still like him as a backup TE.
D. Hixon, NYG My sleeper pick, not so great.
Current Free Agents
M. Stafford, QB
C. Buckhalter, RB
J. Lewis, RB
J. Norwood, RB
F. Taylor, RB
L. White, RB
L. Coles, WR
M. Crabtree, WR
T. Ginn Jr., WR
T. Holt, WR
M. Massaquoi, WR
B. Scaife, TE
J. Feely, K
J. Kasay, K
R. Lindell, K
49ers, D/ST
Broncos, D/ST
I don't want to do a whole lot of transactions as they cost $5 each.
Side bet with Mackey: I win on weeks that R. Mendenhall rushes for 8 or fewer points. He wins if R. Mendenhall rushes for 9 or more points.
lpeters82: 1
Mackey: 2

Why?
I do somewhat agree with E. Royal. My hope is he will turn into a W. Welker type guy. Lots of receptions, maybe a few TDs. Plus, with B. Marshall not playing 1st string he might become the favorite target of K. Orton. Also, maybe B. Marshall will go to the NYJ. Nothing better for fantasy owners then WR on a bad team. It's not like I loose points for interceptions. Throw the ball up and hope for the best.
As for D. Bowe, I 100% disagree. He should have an even better season then last year. T. Gonzalez is now in ATL and Todd Haley is the new KC coach. You might remember him, he was the O-coordinator for the Cardinals. And, I haven't even mentioned that L. Johnson is another year older.
Please continue to rip my team. I love discussing Fantasy Football. | lpeters82

How many players in your league? You have 3 good WRs, in fact I think there is a big drop after the top 18 WRs, and you have three of them. I think your weak at RB. Brandon Jacobs is a fair #1, but when drafting in a league when you start two RBs, I'd probably have passed on one of the WRs and taken another RB. I do like C. Benson as a sleeper. He could be solid fill in for bye weeks. I would start T. Edwards over C. Pennington.

You must have had a late first round pick. Brees and Slaton should both go somewhere between picks 8-16. I also like having both P. Thomas and R. Mendenhall. Start them both, until you know how much time C. Wells will be getting. PIT should play in many games where they are ahead.
6 Points for a TD pass sure would increase the value I'd place on the top QBs. Even in a standard 4 point for TD league the top QBs are your top scorers. I would make sure to take one of the following: Brees, Brady, Manning, Rogers, Warner, Rivers, or Romo. Looks like you got one of them. | Grimlock

Picked 12th in a 12-team league, so yeah, I had a late pick. 9 of the first 11 were RB's, and I was tempted to take Andre Johnson over Brees, but decided against it, taking Brees and then Slaton at 13. I'm trying to deal Favre and either Shonn Greene or McCalin in order to get Ray Rice, and if so, he will obviously be my flex spot. We shall see though.

Yeah, I have no respect for the guys/girls you play with. If your playing for $, keep playing with them. If not I would join a league with some people who know how to play fantasy football. I understand taking Brady, Manning, and Brees before Rogers. But then who was taken? | LiL_Ramsey

I thing getting S. Slaton in the 3rd was a good find. In most of the leagues I play in A. Peterson, M. Turner, M. Jones-Drew, M. Forte, S. Jackson, and C. Johnson all go in the 1st round. Then D. WIlliams, L. Tomlinson, F. Gore, C. Portis, S. Slaton, and B. Jacobs all go in the second.
I'm not 100% sold on Rivers yet. It seems to me that there D was bad last year, and that caused them to throw the ball a lot. I think they will be better this year and might be able to run L. Tomlinson and D. Sproles a lot more. Guess we'll see. Either way getting him in the 5th round was fine. | LiL_Ramsey

Rivers, Philip SDC QB 5

In a 16 team keeper/dynasty league, standard scoring, 2RB, 2WR,1QB,1TE,K,D: At the moment I'm starting with:
RB- Marion Barber
RB- Pierre Thomas
WR- Reggie Wayne
My league reaches like mad for any RB with a chance to start. A lot of guys didn't keep 3, seem to be lacking an RB#2 (best available being guys like McFadden)... I'm guessing with my 4th (10 picks into), I'll have good options of an elite TE, a QB such as Romo/Rivers, or WR in the area of Colston/Marshall/Bowe/TJ/Roy Williams/Ocho.
I have an offer to move (up) to a slot about 12 picks after this pick, meaning I'd assume the QBs like Romo/Rivers will be gone (probably Ryan/McNabb will be BAP) and the BA WR will be guys like Williams/Ocho/Jackson/Royal and BA TE may still be second or third elite...
I could probably take RB at either slot as well, probably guys like Willie Parker, Benson, or perhaps Ray Rice... Moreno and Wells would likely have been drafted before either pick... young 'sleeper' guys like Brown/Greene/McCoy may not necessarily last past the end of the 5th, even if none are certain to start.
My sense is to take a guy like Witten with the early pick, and then go after best available QB with the later pick... e.g., target a guy like McNabb or Ryan... and hope to get a good WR#2 a few picks later (possibly a Walter type) .. IThe reverse would be to take Romo/Rivers in the first pick, and best available player later..
