So I just got this thing last week with a combined Sony Bravia purchase... this thing is friggin sweet. I never realized what I was missing. *doh* Picked up Demon's Souls (available for trade in a week cuz its likely too hard), Uncharted 2 and Madden (4-0 online who wants some!). The picture quality is so incredible it makes porn fun again! And I can finally watch blu ray!!!

I have a few questions --

1. When surfing the internet, can I open up more than one page and still have it load/play in the background while I continue to surf? (ex. I wanna listen to Pandora.com streaming radio but if I open up another page it immediately shuts the music off unless I'm literally looking at the pandora page)

2. If I purchase a PSP game through the online store, can I play it with the PS3....? cuz I don't own a psp... no, right?

3. I bought a few games, FF7, FFTactics, 1942, Legend of Han Tao (i think that's the name).......... so if my machine breaks or warranty replaces it, do I lose these games?

1) Not sure, I've hardly ever used the internet browser.

2) No, PSP games only work on PSP.

3) Nope, you're allowed to have your PSN account activated on 5 separate machines. This means that if a friend of yours has a PS3, you could activate your PSN account on his system and play all your games on there, while still having them active on your system at home. This is where the whole idea of game sharing comes into play (see my sig for more details). If your system ever need to be repaired for anything, see if you can deactivate your PSN account from the system before sending it away. That way, you're not wasting one of your 5 allowed activations.

I'm not sure about question1. I stream vids from Anime sites and have had multiple windows open at once but I don't think it continues playing the video.

No you can only play them on PSP. But you can play PSone Classics on both. You can also remote play which means the PS3 can stream to PSP. PSone classics and some PS3 title i.e. BlazBlue.

As far as I know if they give you back your same PS3 you should be able to redownload titles. That is the good thing about the gameshare. If you had to get a new PS3 you can sign in under your last user name and nab the titles that you had previously downloaded. It works up to 5 different consoles.

In my experience, if you simply ask the users of this site for a PS3, they will gladly oblige. Your results may vary.

In response to your first question, no. I used the browser a lot when I first got my PS3 and I was never able to do that. Say if you were to go to a video on Youtube, and open a new window, the video would pause itself while you're in the second window. I also tried Playlist a couple times...first time I tried it it didn't work, but then I tried it again a while later and it did, so I guess they fixed something to where certain sites could still run while in another window.

Same...I really enjoy the PSN games like Fat Princess. Just don't have $300 to spare for a PS3 at the moment.

To answer your first question, you can only hear the page your looking at. So you have to be browsing the pandora page to hear it. And congrats on the PS3 purchase, you need to play MGS4.

If the PS3 had a VGA cable like the 360, I would try to grab one for Christmas
I only have a computer monitor in my room, so that's the only way I'd be able to use one
I never understood why they couldn't sell a cable like that * frown *
Will probably get an HDMI monitor eventually, may grab a PS3 then

Big metal gear fan but I feel Kojima started losing it a little bit....... I played some MGS4 when it first came out and it was more of the same... amazing visuals combined with just wacky japanese silliness that started to only stretch further. Metal Gear would do better with an American director but yeah, i'ma tro to play through it, it's supposed to be great so hopefully it'll bring back my feelings

I agree there Kojima has a few loose and should hand the franchise over to western director/studio. Plus MGS4 is only $20-$30 so that's even better.

The first game still wins with it's characters though * raspberry *

I felt MGS4 was clearly one of the best game's I'd ever played (even if the story depends on like 8 other MG games). MGS and MGS2 I enjoyed about the same. MGS3 was the worst since I didn't like the outdoor stuff.

It wasn't that ridiculous with the first two games... yeah, i mean each one got progressively more ridiculous than the last one but I feel like there was always something missing with most of the series, things like the exclusion of jumping into a fudging METAL GEAR and tearing crap up by the end of the game. Opting for the silly crap instead of a more serious military aspect was something that became more glaring with each release.

I can't believe all the MGS4 hate though... i thought i was in the minority on that one...

side note: if anyone hasn't played MAG yet, it's a beta you get from Gamestop for preordering with $5. If you don't like the game you can convert your preorder to whatever else. A call of duty clone made from Zipper, the team that made Socom, still the best multiplayer navy seal game, the first one back for the ps2. MAG is pretty sick, tho. Highly recommended.
