I've been avoiding that site since GTZ was all the social-networking I needed. But now everyone I know is on it, and I'm left wondering if I should join as well. I know I won't do Myspace, because it was bought by Rupert Murdoch.
So, any compelling reason not to join Facebook?

I joined after going to my college orientation stuff. Met lots of people and they were all asking for my Facebook info, didn't have an account though
It's ok I guess, pretty much a more mature version of Myspace I guess

You should all go on there and add me (ryan lucas) and join restaurant city. That way I can visit your crappy restaurant and get free ingredients for mine. Or go send me free crap in Mobsters.

Facebook has been kinda weird lately. I really don't need to know every time someone I know friends someone I don't.

once you join it, you'll hate how often you visit it. I hate how often I visit it, and I think facebook is a piece of crap.....but I also never go online without at least checking if I have any new activity on there. It's an addiction, it's a disease. The only reason I got it, and haven't deleted it, is that it's an easy way to keep touch with folks I haven't seen in years, and for quick correspondence with people from here (I barely use any messenger programs anymore)....but if I was you, I'd just stay away! It's terrible. The worst part is that facebook makes you notice/realize really depressing things about your so-called friends. Their insecurities, their fake arrogance, their lack of intelligence, etc. It's awful.

My main reason (lately) for going on there is Mafia Wars. I made a whole 'nother account just to play the game, so it won't clutter up my real account.

I like it. It's a lot better then Myspace, not as many errors and the layout is nicer. I seem to find more people on facebook now then myspace which is on a downward spiral.

It's good for connecting with long lost people. My mom made one not long ago and has found a bunch of old High School friends she had lost touch with. Also, I use it as a marketing tool, it's a very quick and easy way to network with people. |

Facebook is good especially if you're long out of school and out of touch with people. Easy to find and remain in contact.
It's also not as full of retards taking pictures in mirrors smearing their eyeliner when they cry over not being on someone's top friends list.

You can go into the settings and make it so apps don't post those retarded updates. I play the zynga poker and mafia wars and never have a wall post. I hate seeing that crap. |

I've been getting friend requests from people I went to elementary school with and haven't talked to in 20 years. Wasn't even friends with them then really, it freaks me out a little. |

That is odd! Although I do wish some people from that era and middle school would track me down.

For chatting with people go to Facebook.
If you want something more music related, that title still belongs to myspace |

I signed up for facebook as a means of finding out information on someone who ran into my car in a parking deck. They turned around and friend requested me soon thereafter. Made my job of info philsing go a lot quicker.

The one thing I've noticed while adding my relatives on Facebook is that I seem to have a lot of cute-looking distant cousins.

I enjoy facebook a lot more than MySpace, I stopped using that crap a year or two ago. Facebook is simple as can be, easy to stay in touch with friends, old high school pals, and family members. Plus I would rather get a quick message on Facebook from a few family members out there than a long phone lecture.

William Tsueng promoted you to Buttonman in their Top Mafia in Mafia Wars. Make sure to return the favor. Click here to play Mafia Wars.
I love you Willyum. This is the best thing you've done for me since you sent me that subtime. Actually now that I think about it would you like to help a brother out and send me some of that. Next time I'm home I'll trade something for subtime but til then I'm broke and subtimeless. |

The only thing I liked about MySpace was being able to discover new musicians that I would have otherwise missed out on. Facebook just seems more interactive and it makes things easier to keep track of what people are up to.
