Used to watch those movie nights on cartoon network. You just made me remember so many good movies in the process.

Secret of NIMH is the best Don Bluth film.
But yeah, I also saw An American Tail in the theatre when it was new. |

An American Tail is amazing. We bought a double pack of the original and Fievel Goes West a year or two ago. They're still great and really funny. |

When I was a kid, American Tail and American Tail: Fievel Goes West got a lot of screentime in my house, as did The Land Before Time, All Dogs go to Heaven, Fern Gully... and most Don Bluth films in general (except Rock-a-Doodle; I hated that movie so badly). As I've grown up, I've found that I can still go back and really enjoy a lot of Don Bluth's work the same way I did as a child, which I unfortunately cannot say for most of Disney's films. In fact, I used to get my mother to sing Somewhere Out There every night for almost a year until she got tired of doing so and just bought the soundtrack. |

That was my favorite movie as a kid. Adequate pipe.

An American Tail is the first movie I ever saw in a theater!
That, The Land Before Time, and The Little Mermaid were the only VHS's I watched until the tape quit playing.

Haha, yeah. I actually have American Tail (all of them if I'm not mistaken), Fox and the Hound, and I think the Little Toaster on a recorded tape. Fox and the Hound and the Little Toaster were definitely a couple of my favorite childhood movies. |

Secret of NIMH managed to make rats terrifying. Of course, it didn't help that I was scared of them already as a kid. Great movie though. The book was good, too (though I read it in sixth grade).
