* "Get the Red Out of the White House."
* "Waterboard Congress"
* "Traitor to the U.S. Constitution" (Picture of Obama on sign)
* "Ken-Ya Trust Obama?" (Rep. Steve King, R-IA, autographing the sign)
* "Un-American McCarthyite" (with picture of Pelosi)
* "I'm the King of the World: Remember the Titanic?" (Drawing of Obama in the mold of the 'Jovial Sambo' from the Jim Crow era doing the Leo Titanic pose."
My favorite:
Let's not forget when congressman Todd Akin recited the Pledge of Allegiance......and forgot the term indivisible. Freudian slip? |

I had read "Lemon Party" before but didn't know what it was so I checked out the site on the guy's sign.

1. Hopefully you don't think that picture was of actual protesters.
2. I support the right of any group to assemble and express their feelings en-masse. It's disappointing that some people, such as this man, cannot restrain themselves:
But, the overwhelming majority of protesters at these tea parties are respectful and quite peaceful. They are just concerned citizens who wanted the make their dissatisfaction noticed by the current administration, much like the people who protested the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. There will always be a few loons who show up to these things, but do not think you are elevating the debate by calling these people "teabaggers". In general, I have nothing against them and I support much of what they support. Modest tax rates are a good thing, high national debt is a bad thing, an ever increasing welfare state goes against the principals this country was founded on. I just wish they, myself included, would have cared about these issues 8 years ago...
