As you guys may or may not remember, my father was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer just over a year ago. At the beginning of this year, my father had a large section of his colon removed, removing the colon cancer. Then he went on to collect over a thousand hats for the patients at the Duke-Raleigh Cancer Center (which I posted a link to a vid of an interview he did about it). Now comes the latest... and best... news. Just a couple of weeks ago, my father underwent a PET scan and a MRI to determine how much effect the chemo and radiation treatments were having on the liver cancer. The results of the tests came in and the doctors are now saying that the cancerous lesions are dead... that there is no visible activity in the cells! While not cancer free (he will have to go five years without any cancerous activity for this declaration to be made), this is indeed better news than we could ever hope for. Cass and I want to think everyone here that either prayed for my dad, thought about my dad, sent him their best wishes, or even just talked to me during this time. You actually might be surprised how much of a help you guys were. I can't think you guys enough.
I will continue to give updates to anyone that wants them. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart. |

This just made my day and I don't even know you or your father personally. Losing a parent (especially at a young adult age) is a extremely tough thing to go through. Hopefully you will have many more years together.
