Not sure if that is normal but my team was chosen randomly for me. Maybe I missed something >.>. | Reed | #16 posted July 20, 2012 at 1:53am (EDT) Yeah, don't do an automatic draft, watch some preseason football, keep up with the news, contract disputes, etc.....look at mock drafts, maybe participate in a live mock draft to get a feel for where players go, etc.....The draft determines 50% of the success you will have,the rest is probably 30% for making the right starts week to week, and 20% waiver wire moves. edited July 20, 2012 at 1:58am (EDT) Yes, I won the championship last year. | pr0phet | #17 posted July 20, 2012 at 9:13am (EDT) Throw in some basic understanding of scoring principals/strategy for your league too(As part of that 50% draft success Reed mentioned).One of the biggest varieties is the points per QB touchdown passing. In some leagues it is 4, in others it is 6. You better look at yardage for other positions to make sure the QB isn't a top priority. Many regular players will just assume to take a RB in the first round when a QB would be the wiser choice in a 6 pts/passing TD. I have heard of stupid crazy scoring things. .25 pt per passing attempt. is just one of the many. | |

I played one year in this league, and I made the mistake of building my team around the Colts (and we all know how that turned out last year). Payment just sent. Awaiting entry league ID and PW.Hopefully a better year for me than last. In my main league ($150 entry fee) I missed the playoffs for the first time after 12 straight playoff appearances. In Reed's league I also did crapty, however in my friendly league I won the championship with basically Brady and Gronkowski. Though all I won from that was bragging rights and 6 pack of beer from one of my friends. Let the pre season football talk commence! Any early takers on Tebow this year? He was really sought after by a bunch of dipcraps in one of my league last year. Some ridiculous trades were made that completely skewed the balance. While I expect Sanchez to eventually fail I really won't be able to stand the media coverage again this year if Tebow finds moderate success, especially with Rex Ryan and the New York Jets along with him. Being born and raised outside of Boston I am lifelong Patriots fan. I can't wait to see Brady and Peyton Manning reunite in the Patriots Broncos game later this year. Despte the Jets being our biggest division rival, it was the Brady/Manning battles that have truly been the best football to watch over the last decade for me. Major bummer last year having Peyton out and Eli snag another undeserved Super Bowl Ring. While I don't want the Eagles to go to far I would love to see Vick and Co. demolish both the reigning champion Giants and Jerry Jones' Cowboys in the NFC East. | |
