What's your favorite horror movie and why? Also, love to hear new suggestions as I'm a huge horror fan. My favorites are, original Halloween and original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
I probably have something I could call my all time favorite, but I can't think of it at the moment. I've always preferred slashers over most horror genres, and I assume we're talking straight horror and not like comedy or torture porn, right?
I've always been a huge Friday the 13th fan. I love me some Jason Lives. The original Nightmare on Elm Street is still the greatest and only one worth watching. The Thing, The Exorcist and The Shining are epic, if those count. I'm pretty sure almost every Halloween film of the original series were all great (with the exception of 3, and Rob's don't count). Is American Psycho horror? The first 3 Child's Play movies were up there too.
I pretty much thought the whole TCM series was garbage with the exception of the first remake, and the unreleased/unedited/uncut TCM3 Leatherface film. Never understoof why people thought the original or the 2nd were any good. Part 4 was definitely crap.
The Dragonlord revealed his true self!Command?
watch Sinister. I just watched it recently. and that movie is FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED up.
I dont necessarily have a favorite series. Just a fan of the genre overall. If i read that a new one has come out thats good, ill usually give it a watch, but usually at home because all my friends are pussies and are not fans.
Dead alive is a classic along with the evil dead, Sinister I watched In the theaters and really enjoyed it. Slashers are the best, I collect horror. I just got Intruder and stoked to watch it, Stage Fright was also great. Black Christmas is another favorite
1. The Exorcist
2. Evil Dead Trilogy
3. The Ring
4. Tie between Ringu and Ju-on (Yeah I liked the American version of Ring more, big whoop, wanna fight about it?)
5. Dead Silence
6. The Omen (Original)
8. Pet Semetary
Honorable Mentions: Nightmare On Elm Street (original), The Descent, Saw, and Poltergeist (not a true horror movie, but worth mentioning), White Noise
I am sure I forgot a ton, and my list changes constantly.
Remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
To all you Jason fans, Im with you.. Friday the 13th part 6 was the best Jason ever. I like the original Halloween, Sinister, New Dawn of the Dead and Exorcism of Emily Rose are good ones..
I'm more into creature features, always have been.
So; John Carpenter's The Thing (1982)
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) an oldy but a goody.
or any good Zombie Flick.I Complete Games!!!!
The Thing. Great suspense, an alien that isn't humanoid, great acting.
Paypal is the Devil
More psychological-horror but Frailty is great.
Resurrection was a pretty good movie. It came out around 1999-2000.
Out of most of the recently released stuff I really enjoyed Insidious. I don't know, maybe you could put it under the thriller genre instead. I'm glad they're making a part two and that the same writer and director are involved.
If we're talking all time I'll go with The Thing.

I gotta go with TCM for sure. I can't wait for the new one to come out.
Message me if you would like me to buy you something off Amazon with my Prime!
You best stop trollin. Not sure why, but there are 2 topics so it must be srs.
What Lies Beneath
28 Days Later, Cabin in the Woods, The Ring, Paranormal Activity 1-3, The Thing, and Evil Dead 2 (1st was okay, but I didn't like Army of Darkness).
I'm pretty sure it's illegal to not like Army of Darkness.
The Exorcist is my favorite.
3 movies scarred me as a kid:
Child's Play - Threw my My Buddy doll away after that crap.
Poltergeist 2 - The demon and the old preacher.
Pet Cemetery - This dog...

The August Underground movies are pointless, maybe worth one watch but really bad movies nonetheless.

That's not the new one.

newer version? This one was in 2003. When did they do another one?
The Evil Dead (All)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (Original)
Zombie (AKA Zombi 2, Zombi Flesh Eaters, etc.)
The Fog (Carpenter)

Zombie is great, gotta love Fulci movies.Stupid Tad....
That's cause it's snuff, and it is not even that good IIRC. More-so just shock value over anything else.
It's not snuff in the sense that real people get killed, but it's still snuff.
Some other ones that I go back to a lot are:
Return of the Living Dead
Demons 1 & 2
Night of the Demons
The Fly (1986)
