Amazon is at it again with an awesome trade-in deal. If you trade-in $50 worth of gaming stuff, you get a coupon for 50% off a game or accessory.

Now on the surface, this is pretty good. When you see (and the people on CAG seem to see) that there is no maximum price on the discount, it only says the lowest price qualifying item on your order. So, you of course order one thing, and it's a biggie.

So there's no reason you couldn't order Rock Band 2 Special Edition at half price, or a 360 wireless adapter (the route I will likely go). This makes it a SENSATIONAL offer!

Youo just beat me to this. The actual link is here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link...

As a head's up, Boom Blox Bash Party is selling for $30 at Best Buy and has a trade in value at amazon of 27. And SW: The force unleased for the wii was selling for 9.99 at Target with a trade in value of 9.00. This 50% coupon appears to be applicable to any non-console video game store purchase which means.....probably applicable to Rock Band Beatles...for $125. Time to clean up gang!

I going to say it will work with pre orders, as the only purchase rules are it has to bought from them directly and has to be purchased from the shopping cart before 8/31/09 so as long as the game comes out before then, it should work, but if it comes out after that, you should contact them and ask them.

Would this take 50% off of the Ear Force X4? Cause seriously that'd be a steal if you were trading in stuff at a reasonable value.

They were selling those for $160...but still that'd be $75 if you traded in at least $50 worth of stuff? I am so tempted to see what I can get for some stuff.

edit: too bad this isn't more instant. I think you have to wait to get the coupon. Does anybody know if you will get 1 coupon for each $50+ trade in you do? I'm thinking about doing a few more.

So, will this work with Rock Band 2? I missed it the last time Gamestop had it on sale and do not want to miss it if this is the case.

What was the turn-around for anyone else that did this? My trade-in was submitted very early on July 18th, was postmarked on Monday the 20th, and I received the gift card credit to my account on Thursday or Friday but I have not yet been emailed the coupon code for the 50% off. Did it take anyone else the full 10 days to receive it?

You might have missed the cut off for this promo, did you check to see what the date was for when they had to go out by? I don't think it was the 18th-20th, I'm thinking it was a lot earlier than that.

You might want to call amazon, we can't tell you what the deal is, so why not get the story directly from their mouth?

I'm not asking "what the deal is." If you read my post you would see that I was merely asking for fellow participating users' turn-around time. And FYI I have already tried to pry info out of customer service to no avail. But, thank you for the semi-smart remark.

There are about 20 people who posted their turn around was 2-4 days, so if your taking longer then that your choices are to either wait since it does say it can take longer, or call and verify everything is in order. It's really as simple as that.

BTW - Stupid question but if you have a spam folder did you check to make sure the email with code didn't go in there?
