Looks like they changed the offer again to a $20 credit in the face of Walmart's increase of their GC promotion! |

Now I think I'm glad I didn't preorder this at Gamestop or Gamecrazy. I'm going to Walmart probably this weekend.
Thanks for the info! |

is walmart doing it too? |

| | #8 posted October 25, 2009 at 7:05pm (EST) |
yeah but walmart will give you the card the same day but they also charge you the same day and the walmart e-gift card is good on anything vs. amazon's beig strictly for a future video game store purchase |
Bostonitalian88
| | #9 posted October 25, 2009 at 7:34pm (EST) |
ok so would you recommend reserving it at a walmart store over doing it online then? |
shady520
| | #10 posted October 25, 2009 at 7:51pm (EST) |
i chose amazon because i had an eca code so i got $6 off, no tax, and then i chose release day shipping which was $5.98 and i know i will use the game credit at least on MS points but i heard with walmart you will like have to pay tax and ~$2-3 to ship it to your home to get it within the first week or free site to store which is probably 2 weeks wait unless you have the express membership. |
Bostonitalian88
| | #11 posted October 25, 2009 at 8:10pm (EST) |
damn is it really a 2 week wait if i go into the store and reserve it? Its not like gamestop where i can go in the day it comes out and get it that day? |
shady520
| | #12 posted October 25, 2009 at 8:12pm (EST) |
not from what i read on CAG but you could always stop at walmart and ask an employee or buy two copies, one on release and return the sealed one when you get it for a refund. |

There is going to be a million copies of this game. Picking it up at Walmart on release day is going to be no problem. I think my Walmart is even releasing it at midnight.

yeah but with pre-ordering it online he will not be able to pick it up on release day like gamestop. |
Bostonitalian88
| | #15 posted October 25, 2009 at 8:17pm (EST) |
what if i pre-order it by walking into the store? will i still get the $20 gift card and can i pick it up the day it comes out? |

Is there no other way to get the Walmart deal than preordering online? If so then Amazon all the way. No tax/shipping that's nearly $8+ right there depending on what Walmart charges for shipping.

well to be fair amazon free super savings shipping will probably also take a week and i think it is just a preorder deal and i thought you couldn't make preorders at the stores. |

I think I live close to a distro site and the free shipping has never taken more than 3 days or so. Though no game has ever made me want to wait in line an hour and a half for it at midnight.
Also there are free Amazon Prime memberships being given out again so you can get in on that for the holidays as well as the same day release date delivery or whatever it is.

Doesn't MW2, have the "ship on release day" shipping? That is what I checked, and usually you get it on release day with no extra charge |

It is the Expedited shipping charge unless you have Prime I think.
*edit*
It's $6 extra
I am hoping the ECA codes go live before Nov 10. I got a $50 GC for Amazon and I'd like to use it for the Hardened Ed. for the COD Classic code :D

Oh I checked my order confirmation, and mine is only $6 shipping. But I find it worth it instead of waiting 2 weeks. But it comes out the same if I pre ordered from Gamestop. But I get a $20 from Amazon, so I am still saving some |

Amazon is great
MW2 Hardened Edition $79.99
ECA Discount -8.00
Future Credit -20.00
Plus having a gift card for it all is perfect!
I'll probably be using the 20.00 credit for Assassins Creed 2

I was going to have you use your ECA code for a copy for me but you used it like the day or day before I asked you in chat/pm about it. :(

Electronic Consumers Association...they have a discount code for 10% off Video Game purchases but they have been down for the past 2 weeks due to people abusing the code system allowing them to stack the codes for 30% [on up maybe?]
Amazon is probably your best bet. Get a free Prime membership and you can get release day delivery for free. If you have already have had a Prime membership in the past you just need to set up a new account. There is a thread on CAG all about it. They usually give them away during the holidays 1/3 month free subscriptions. Makes holiday shopping/shipping easy if you buy from Amazon since it's a free upgrade to 2 day normally on anything Amazon sells.
CAG link for Prim info...
