Nice--I have a receipt for uncharted 2 so I'll just buy it and return that one.....so:
2 games come to $115 shipped.
-$65 for the return of uncharted 2 to gamestop w/ my receipt (bought 2 weeks ago)
$50 for the 2nd game of my choice (borderlands I think)
$40 gift card.
Not a bad deal! Tahnks! |

Buy Modern Warfare 2 + one other game and receive a 40 dollar AND a 20 dollar credit towards future purchases??
I hate to buy more video games then necessary because my backlog is to damn big :(
Thanks for posting the sale :D |

This is a better and more flexible deal than the Best Buy sale. No tax for most people and almost all games being discounted by $3-7, plus you could fit a $30 game in there, or numerous $20-30 games etc. Far better deal. |

I dont think this applies to pre-orders and CODMW2 specifically, as that was my intention originally. Only game that have alreadybeen released: (Brutal legend, borderlands, beatles rock band etc) |

yeah it's only good towards games that are already out.

can you use the $40 towards a preorder? like say mag or bayonetta? it says it has to be used by the end of the year but I didnt say anywhere if you can use it towards a game coming out next year.

I agree whole heartedly with the comment. I personally stuck with the BB sale because I wanted to play Ratchet and Boarderlands. Why not get a freebie 60 dollar game(or at least hope to get one).

the only bad thing is its only on wii 360 and ps3 games. which i feel if best buy has everything in stock you want that is the better deal.
figure this.
best buy
spend 129.73 total for 3 games(59.99)
amazon(i get taxed)
spend 194.60 total for 3 games(59.99) - 40 on future your still spending 154.60.
if this worked on ds and psp it would be godly. sadly unless your buying old old games most new gen games are still at least 56.99 on amazon. if the darn eca codes would work it would be nice.
sadly from what i last saw in forums on friday they are removing eca from amazon due to people using the codes wrongfully. |

Question--when do you get this email? I haven't had much of a confirmation on the $40 credit for the future?? |

most likely you get the credit when 1 or all 3 games have been shipped. Amazon tends to give their credit about 2 days after your order ships |
ndrake

| | #13 posted October 28, 2009 at 10:46am (EST) |
From the offer details:
Codes will be sent via email seven (7) business days after all items in the qualifying order have shipped. |

picked up Uncharted 2 and Tales of Vesperia for 82.90 , used ECA to knock off $8.30
confirmed with amazon that ECA will not hurt my chances at the credit, and it will be applied. yay

The ECA credit is back on? they removed it from the site when they were working out that dispute with amazon over the abuse of codes. Or is this a code you had saved from before? |

Saved. Amazon is gone from ECA. They pretty much BS'ed everyone saying "next week next week". Topic was even deleted from the eca forums

Uncharted 2 and Infamous would have been nice, but I see all the good games are still $50+. Makes it hard to find a good pair at $80. |

I have credits from previous promotions plus ECA. So my cart looks like this:
Items: $83.98
Shipping & Handling: $5.48
Super Saver Discount: -$5.48
Promotion Applied: -$8.40
Promotion Applied: -$10.00
Promotion Applied: -$5.00
Total Before Tax: $60.58
Estimated Tax: $0.00
Order Total: $60.58
Will this qualify for the $40 promotion? |

| | #21 posted October 31, 2009 at 7:30pm (EST) |
it's supposed to. from what i've read people have had codes applied which made their total less than 80 but they said amazon gave them the credit because the price before the discounts was over 80. of course i cannot confirm this for myself.

This is the wrong way to look at this - granted the deal is different, but if you are going to spend 160$+ you would do the offer 2x and get 2 credits for 40$ each. Only a goon would buy 3 brand new games under this deal. I mean WORSE case scenario get 2 games and then grab the 3rd using the discount from the first. The better way to use this is to get a mix of old and new stuff and hit 80$ almost exactly (or 160$, etc)... RIGHT?
ex -
in for
watchmen: end is night (+blue ray movie) 20$
Dead space 19$
Bioshock 18$
Street Fighter 4 28$
Take 40$ off brand new game (probably use this to get brutal legend for 12$.
92$ total.
I just wish GOW collection was out. Id like to snag that and maybe punchout or a couple cheap games to score credit! |
antwaan
| | #24 posted November 3, 2009 at 9:16pm (EST) |
I used this deal to get brutal legend and uncharted 2 and didnt even realize it at the time but brutal legend was already giving a $10 credit so for a $108 total purchase i got a $50 credit. not bad.
