There is the trailer for Season 4. It looks f'ing amazing. They already killed Charlie/Eko...that bummed me out some, but oh well. The new season looks sick! |

I just saw a trailer for it yesterday. I didn't know it was coming back so soon, so of course I'm stoked! This show just kicks so much ass it's amazing. |

I'm on disc 5 of the third season. Its been awesome, only complaint really is that there hasn't been enough Sun and/or Jin. |

Season 3 is so great once you get past a few eps. The last half of the season is so full of action and great twists. |

I guess that's how they are going to bring in the new characters.
That one asian guy (non-Jin/Sun) looked kind of mean. :( |

It looks like they're straying from the supernatural pretenses of the earlier life of the show. Still looks good to me. |

They said from the beginning that everything in the show can be explained with science, and it's not supernatural. |

If there's a reasonable explanation for the smoke monster, I'll eat my own testicles. This excludes "it was just a hallucination" and stuff like that. |

I just can't figure out what they'll use to explain it. Eko was the largest Lostie of the group and the smoke monster picked him up like a ragdoll and smashed his body down into trees and the ground. dub-tee-eff, man. |

I mean, I'm sure they'll be some type of "could never happen" type deal to it. |

Really looking forward to the new season.
Did anyone hear anything else about the strike with Lost? I heard it was supposed to be cut down to about half the season but I donno if it was confirmed....

You can't really expect anything from Lost anymore. If they had to wrap it up in three seasons, it would have been gold. I've said that before.
It's not like they have everything figured out. You have to think about the reality of making the show. They're under contract for what, two more seasons? I doubt the fan base will shrink. They'll get another few seasons, probably stop at 8 or so--whenever all the coolness of the premise has been drained out of it.
I mean come on guys, get with it. J.J. Abrams didn't walk up to ABC with 10 seasons written, ready to rock. Does he know the answers to obvious crap like the smoke? Maybe. I'm not even sure about that. Whatever he comes up with will never live up to the hype. Obviously.

I could care less about hype. I just want some answers! Do I have every possible outcome? No, so I could be very surprised if it's something totally fudging brilliant.
I have really low expectations for motion picture. It's hard to disappoint me. |

I'm not talking about people-talking-about-it hype. I'm talking about how they insist on making it a recurring part of the island, hyping it to be incomprehensible to the viewer.
It's formulaic writing, mediocre at best. The flashes of "brilliance" were in the first few episodes. Everything since has been an exhibition in drudgery.
Artistic integrity is dead.

Actually, I believe it is slated to last a total of 6 seasons so it ends properly -- the last 3 seasons are supposed to be something like 16 episodes each. |

Are you talking about them pushing themselves higher and higher onto a plateau until all they can do is jump off and hope they don't break their legs/die? If so, I kind of agree. |

I've said it many times, with the quality of the first two seasons especially, maybe even season 3, that no matter how they end it people are not going to be satisfied. |

Honestly, I just have fun watching the show. It doesn't matter to me if they explain it scientifically or if its supernatural, just as long as they explain it at some point. Sure, the plot pretty much just keeps digging itself into a deeper hole giving more questions then it answers, but oh well. I like all the characters, its fairly well written and its exciting. I'll be bummed when its all over. I usually don't get into TV series this much, but this is definately my favorite one. |

I assume when they say the show is not supernatural, they mean science fiction. Not that it can be explained by realistic standards. I think the smoke monster has to be some kind of big machine, which would explain the noises it makes. |

I think science over supernatural is what they mean, too. The hatch and it's electromagnetic effects, for instance.
Some of the explanations are more mundane though. At one time, viewers thought the polar bears were magical, possibly created by Walt. Now we know that there was a bear cage on the Others island (Sawyer's cage), and that Dharma brought them to the island(s).

Im liking the third season a little more the second time around. Having them one after another helps as it doesnt fell like ive gone 8 weeks without answers, just a couple of hours. I still cringe everytime i see those two new people and relish their deaths in the remaining episodes i have left. |

That was a pretty crazy episode... it just raised more questions, Lost-style.
Spoiler What was Jack scared Hurley was gonna "tell" everybody? Who are all the Oceanic Six? Why is Kate such a bitch, even when the situation is looking good? Jeez. |
Hopefully they won't take like a 3 month break in-between each episode. |

For some reason I got sidetracked so I will have to go back and rewatch it but it was a pretty good opener. I don't think there is any denying that Jacob is in fact . The flash-forwards are actually not bad but it makes this show even more confusing. |

They have 7 weeks (I think they have 8 full episodes written and filmed) to hope that the writer's strike ends. If yes, hopefully a minor break at most. If no, we're screwed.
