I think he said he'd stop making moves if there was a million signatures or something. I kind of doubt it though.
I don't hate him, but he does make crappy movies. Some of them are good for watching maybe once. I enjoyed the first Bloodrayne. The 2nd one was so terrible I didn't know he was involved, but now that I know, wow. And he's doing a 3rd now?
It is funny, it seems like everyone on the internet hates him.

I don't wish death upon the guy or anything but I hate his movies. They are garbage and somehow he keeps making them.. lol I have IN THE NAME OF THE KING waiting to be watched so I can return it to netflix but I'm kinda worried. I'm a huge Jason Statham fan.

Most of the users here are fond of movies just as bad as Boll's, so shame on all of you for singling him out.

Maybe he should just do a movie based on a game that doesn't suck, it doesn't help when he picks horrible games. Have any of his movies done well enough to warrant him continuing to get work? You would think the studios would stop greenlighting his projects if they aren't profitable.

I loved the Bloodrayne games. Too bad that I never finished Bloodrayne 2 and for some reason it locks up on my PS3. It's been the only PS2 game to give me issues *wry smile*
I might end up having to buy it and play it on my laptop.

In the Name of the King was a bit disappointing, in my opinion. I love Jason Statham as an actor, but the movie was a bit too contrived and cliched for my taste.

So I just watched In the Name of the King I'll give my take without giving up any spoilers as to not ruin anything for those planning to watch it.

Storywise, it's pretty cliche and cheesey in lots of parts. The whole dark forces are taking over the kingdom and we all must come together to stop them storyline is used here once again. For what it's worth isn't that what damn near every movie of this type is about, good or bad? I don't hold that as a complete fault because it can still be entertaining. There is a little more to the story which you can find out on your own when/if you watch it but that's the gist of it.
The special effects are pretty meh... especially the tree women who appear to be hanging from kite strings with plastic leaves pasted to them. The bad guys look reminiscent of villains from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and some of the 'magic' effects are goofy. Some villains look decent and some of the magic effects are decent at times though.
I watched this movie for some action and there is quite a bit and it is pretty decent courtesy of Jason Statham. Lots of the typical sword, axe, bow and arrow fighting and a boomerang!

Jason Statham- My main (well only to be honest) reason for watching another Uwe Boll film plays Farmer, a family man who is dragged into this mess for revenge and to rescue loved ones. Jason Statham has this stylistic swagger about him that he carries while kicking ass or not and he brings that to the film. The ass kicking is brought too. He does a good job acting as well. It's a rather cliched part but the guy's a solid actor especially for an action star.

Ray Liotta - He does a pretty good turn as a villain even if he does overplay it at times. He does a good job playing a schmuck always has and he brings that to this adventure and plays the part with enthusiastic cartoony pleasure. All the while wearing Versacci clothing... lol did they have that back then?

Burt Reynolds- I dunno...he's a pimp of his days but he kinda seems to be winging it through most movies he does these days. It isn't complete garbage performance and doesnt' ruin the movie but.. he's just lacking. Maybe it's the material and not him. His character is kinda meh. He's the King.

Matthew Lillard- This guy always makes me laugh. Whether that's what he's trying to get or not. He's been in horrid movies where I'd laugh at how bad it is and he's been in decent roles where he intentionally made me laugh. He's a lunatic. Seriously he's not right in the head and it's fitting to the role he plays. The Kings loopy nephew.

Brian J. White- I've seen him in a few movies here and there so I recognized him but didn't expect much. He didn't garner much attention from me due to his status (he's kinda a decent backup man in Hollywood but nothing special) but I really thought he took the role seriously and gave it his all. Good acting on this guys part, next to Jason Statham he's the next best thing in this movie. He plays the Commander of the Kings army.

Ron Perlman- The usual. Kinda stubborn and arrogant but likable. He's a buddy of Jasons character and he does a good job. This guy's just dependable in my opinion whether he's playing a good guy or bad guy I find him very likable.

Claire Forlanni, Kristanna Loken, Leelee Sobieski- The reason I group these three women together is that they're all the main female roles in the film. None of them have a big enough part or meaty part in order to get praise or insult. They set a couple up to be big roles but don't give any texture to their character leaving them very bland. Not their fault, they do their best given the parts they were given. The writers should have spent more time on these parts.

All in all the movie is okay. Worth a watch if you're a hardcore Statham fan as I am but isnt' anything special. It's worth noting that this is easily Uwe Boll's best film. Or is it? Anyhow it's alright and Sinnie it's definately worth picking up for $5.

It's pretty damn close, his movies barely make anything as it is, well I consider $1.5-3 million pretty low for wide release films, that basically means his movies are half empty on opening weekend.

I'm betting his movies make more from the DVD sales/rentals than from box office. Hell, Bloodrayne 2 went straight to video, never saw the theatre.

Remember, everytime you rent a Uwe Boll film, a kitten dies.

I hate how Uwe Boll chooses the wrong actors to play the part. Example being, he's making Alone in the Dark 2 w/ an Asian guy playing the part of Edward Carnby. *dead face* It's like he doesn't fully understand the source material or something.
