cause all i see is a bunch-o-emo round these parts. (not to bash emo, i'm pretty tollerant, but it would be refreshing to see some of my own kind every once in a while) I mean real metal heads. moshers, not dancers.devil horns, not that silly hand thing that looks like the cupping of a tall mans testicles. i mean is there any of you out there? |

I listen to metal. I'm not on a metal phase right now, but I do listen to it.
None of that disgusting crap like Cradle of Filth and the like, though.

I go through certain phases of wanting to listen to metal and when I do I stick to the mainstream-System of a Down,Metallica,Tool(if they are even thought of as metal), Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson etc. |

I don't listen to much of the generic metal that's out there these days, and i definately don't listen to emo. Most of the stuff i listen to anymore is a little of the wall with many different styles, bands like:
Polkadot Cadaver
Dog Fashion Disco
Circus Of Dead Squirrels
Man Man
Indorphine
Screaming Mechanical Brain
Vampire Mooose
Hunab Ku
Pin-Up Went Down
Sugarfist
Mod Flanders Conspiracy
Ideamen
Duct Tape Mustache
Psychostick
Dr Steel
Tub Ring
Horse The Band

I'm listening to Fuck the Facts right now... some fun grindcore, along the lines of Anal Cunt.
Plus the singer is a chick. |

iwrestledabearonce (easily the best up and coming metal band I've heard in probably a decade)
All Shall Perish
Job for a Cowboy
Without Remorse
Death Follows Daybreak
Engaged in an Open Casket Standoff (Now called "Hereafter an Odyssey")
All that Remains
Demonoid
and of course my personal favorites
Bal-Sagoth
3 Inches of Blood
Metal is where it's at, and I don't mean dogcrap metal like Metallica. The real deal, crap you'll heel-kick a dude in the face for.

There's a way around it. Hit "Quoted Reply" on my post #9 and you'll see.
But, of course, don't abuse it, or else bill will have to find a way to fix that. |

I listen to metal on occasion. My favorite band is Lacuna Coil, but I also listen to such bands as Metallica, Rob Zombie, Pantera, DragonForce, and Tool.

I'm on a massive Baroness kick right now. They are fudging amazing.
Just got the new The Sword album and it kicks ass too.
Other than that, I've been listening to a lot of Mastodon lately.
I jam a lot of Dream Theater too (Prog Metal).
Some other usuals are Fates Warning, Corrosion of Conformity, Megadeth, Metal Church, Nevermore, Solitude Aeturnus, and just too many other to list. |

The new The Sword album is incredible. Much better than their first one (which was good too).

It's not very often that I do this, but I got that album and listened to it four times straight through. I drove around just to listen to it. The last time I did that was almost a year ago when Dream Theater's Systematic Chaos came out. |

Dream Theater's Metropolis Pt 2: Scenes from a Memory is their best work, hands down.

I would actually say that Systematic Chaos is their best. I usually don't feel that a band's latest album is their best work, but SC is an exception. |
