Frickin' Hinder is the only band who comes here consistantly, I think they came TWICE in a year once. I think All That Remains came a few years back, but it was pretty far from where I live and I was like 14 (no one to drive me). THIS SUCKS!!! WHY CAN'T ANY GOOD BANDS PLAY IN LOUISIANA?!?!?!?!?! Anyways, vented some of my anger on this subject, so now I feel better. |

I feel ya man, I tons of bands and artists never come through Indiana, but luckily I'm only about 2 hours from Louisville, KY. Though I can't afford to go to concerts at the moment. Hopefully I can at least catch Mayhemfest this year.

Yeah, Motley Crue came earlier this year, and I guess that wouldn't be too bad, but who played with them? Wait for it... HINDER! |

Whoops, totally forgot about Voodoo Experience in New Orleans. Last year Stone Temple Pilots played! But that's still like 2 hours from where I live, and I don't have a car. |

Here in Nashville its not so bad. We got Warped Tour a while back, and there's always reputable hardcore and metal bands coming and going.

It's because you don't live in Upstate NY, easily the best metal/hardcore scene in the US.

most metal bands tend to play Nassau Coliseum here in NY...but thats all the way in Long Island.......Blech.
I do occasionally go see a few bands in Manhattan though, theres tons of large and small venues there that frequently have shows. I prefer GA shows because they tend to be cheaper and you can fight your way to the front. But yea, NY, LA and Chicago seem to be the best cities for concerts, thought I wouldn`t rule out Georgia as the Lakewood amphitheater is a good draw. |

Louisiana rarely has any other concerts other than rock radio bands, though Acid Bath is from here which is pretty cool. I have yet to hear of a concert that I wouldn't want to miss, except maybe the Voodoo Experience. |

Yeah I haven't checked them out in a while but when I heard some of their stuff it was awesome.
I wasn't sure or not must have the Louis part that led me to Louisiana.
my bad.

no biggie. yep Louisiana has Britney Spears, Acid Bath and 12 Stones that I know of (2 out of 3's not bad). Lil' Wayne might be from New Orleans, but IDK. Thought I heard that, though I'm not into much rap.
and Chadical, what would you compare Lye by Mistake's sound to (if you remember). You had to mention them and get me interested, and now I'm probably going to spend money I shouldn't and get their album. Thanks (I think...) |

I would compare them to The Number 12 looks like you the most just because they throw in this jazz element that is pretty wicked.

If anyone with good taste hasn't already heard of Dillinger Escape Plan in all the years they've been around, there's a problem.

I'm 16, and heard of Dillinger Escape Plan, but never checked them out. My favorite band is Alice in Chains, and I think they got another singer and are working an new stuff, so I'm totally stoked about that. Can't Youtube Dillinger Escape Plan tho cuz I'm stuck with dial up |

hmm, after making a trip to upstate new york this past weekend, I see what the big deal is about it being one of the best metal/hardcore scenes in the US. Tons of bands I`ve heard little about dominate the area, and the local shows are plentiful (and good). Unfortunately, the people that reside there are like the rednecks of NY and the its in the middle of nowhere (sparse public transportation....you NEED a car to get around there), but yea. Occassionally I will take a trip there from now on to check out new bands, but really wish that area was more developed/easy to get to, |

Dillingers new Cd ain't bad but I prefer Miss Machine. Though a couple songs off Ire Works are really amazing.
Here lately though I've been listening to tons of Horse the Band. Sick is the only word to describe them.

Yup, unless you're in Albany or Troy, there's no bus stations carting you everywhere. It's very open, but not hillbilly-ish.
I've been to a lot of other shows in other states, and the scene here musically, paired with the fact that nobody throws it down in a pit like the upstate NY hardcore scene, just makes this place the crap. I honestly think the music scene is the only reason I haven't moved away yet.

yea the mosh pits tend to get crazy....and often. I didnt mean hillbilly-ish but just, I`m so used to public transportation being a few blocks away from living in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan that I will have a hard getting used to it if I lived there. |

Wow there's a advertising banner on right now for a Flyleaf show in Baton Rouge, which I hopefully will be attending even though I don't like them as much as I used to. |

Oh dammit now there's another banner saying that Flyleaf's gonna play with Hawk Nelson, now I don't know if I will attend that show. FU Hawk Nelson |
