Has anybody been able to play Broken Sword: Sleeping Dragon on WIN XP ?
Mine loads just fine, but when I try to launch the game from the desktop shortcut, it automatically re-starts my computer.
Any suggestions?

Played fine on my laptop using Win Xp. Not sure what the problem could be. |

Some of the forums say that there could be a problem with a CD copy protection program that it uses, but I am not sure how to turn that off or get around, or do you think I can even do anything about that ?

The US release of The Sleeping Dragon uses StarForce. If the restart is caused by it though, I really couldn't say. I never actually had any problems with it.
Found this over at Revolution's forums.
The game will not start? Here are some things to try.
XP
Reduce audio hardware acceleration. To do this clickon on Start -> Run -> type dxdiag -> Sound -> Move the ''Hardware Sound Acceleration Level'' slider down to ''Basic acceleration''. This is resolving the majority of XP startup problems.
- Try running the safe version of the game, it is found in the game folder.
- If you are using any refresh rate fixing programs like nvRefreshTool then disable these before running the game |
If that doesn't work that I suggest paying Revolution a visit and asking in the Tech Support forum. They still offer help for old games like Lure of the Temptress and Beneath a Steel Sky, and I figure they'll probably be able to help you with BS3 better than anyone here. |

For real? Wow, I guess I lucked out that I never got around to playing Sleeping Dragon, since Starforce is apparently a nasty piece of software.
Boycott Starforce Page

Ok...I will try messing with the audio accelerator slider, but if that does not work, than I will probably just put it up for trade.
But thanks for the help guys......
