Something my girlfriend can use to browse the web, and leave me alone, lol. Something decent, at least 1.5 GHZ, 1 Gig ram. I would love to trade for a netbook, as I can't afford to just outright buy one.

What OS? Vista or XP? What size screen (aside from a netbook)?

I actually have a Vista labtop that I don't use (b/c my software, games, etc., don't work on vista). If I can find the manual, power cord, etc., I might be able to do a cash/trade combo w/ you. LMK if you're interested.

I am going to be selling my Dell E1505 that is 1.6ghz dual processor, 2GB ram, 320GB hard drive with Windows XP media center w/ restore cds, battery works. Wifi, ethernet, 4 USB 2.0 ports, etc. DVD/cd burner.
No major flaws except the PCMCIA thing that you push is sticking out slightly.
I upgraded the RAM and hard drive about a year ago. I am wanting to upgrade to something with a bigger screen. This one is 15.4 inches.
A quick check on ebay shows the going price for this model and upgrades is $250 + shipping on certain ones, and others have sold for about $300 with free shipping.

I'm looking for cheap. Like, 50-100 bucks cheap. Something you have laying around or whatever. Or trade/cash combo, but I cannot afford that much.

ah, yeah with the specs you want, good luck....

You might just be better off saving up and getting a cheap Acer or Asus netbook for her. I love my HP netbook but those run a bit higher. Plus mine has already gone through a battery in less then 6 months * wry smile * but I love it otherwise.

Finally found the comp and discs. It's a Gateway MT3705, dual core 1.6Ghz, 1gb ram, ATI Radeon 200M card, 14" screen, Vista Home Premium. No dead pixel.

I'll post a pic when I get a chance to recharge batteries for the camera.

Ebay completed auctions show the computer went for $135 to $250 range (the $135 auction didn't include an OS). I'm willing to do a cash and trade combo if you're willing to throw in a lotta dvds. :)

I personally have no use for this gateway labtop since I can't make heads or tails out of Vista, and I've got other comps that I use on a daily basis. LMK if you're interested, Marc.

I have an Asus EEE 904HA netbook I could part with for 225$ shipped or best offer. These go new at 300+ dollars. It's only 4 months old. Windows XP, 160GB Hard Drive, 9 inch screen, 5-6 hour battery life, etc.
