paper towel and a little bit of water
I used an actual "monitor cleaner" wipe, it left streaks everywhere

Microfiber cloth + water.
I've never used any kind of cleaner, water is fine.

Don't use paper towel
It has grooves and ridges that can scratch your monitor. Get one of those microfiber cloths that defaultgen suggested.
Isopropyl alcohol works better as it actually disinfects as well as dries easily. Water can easily damage an electronic device. |

I use a 70/30 mixture of water/rubbing alcohol and the softest cloth I can find. Works really well.

Unless you are using a pretty rough paper towel, it shouldn't be a problem
Any of those grooves/ridges shouldn't be a problem if you have water on it
