Hey everyone, I think someones about to try to rip me off. We agreed on this trade about a week and a half ago and I was to send first because he had about 5 more trades than me, so I sent on January 26, and today I got the email notification that he cancled the trade. This would be about the general time that he should be recieving too. Whats even more suspicious is that his reason for canceling was "JUST." In the reply I sent to him(the one you get after someone cancels on you) I told him that Im giving him 24 hours to send me a response because I am hoping this is just a misunderstanding. But still I would like to get every ones advice on what to do. I know to file a BTR, but how should i handle tat and is there anyting else I can do?
The trade was outlined as I would send first the game Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom and then he would send me $17 paypal shipped.
I also need help finding out his name, I got the email and I responded to him, but I accidently deleted the email notification and I cant figuire out where to look at the trade people canceled on you.
All help is appreciated, I have had good luck here for the past few months Ive been using this site and I just dont want one guy to ruin it. :/
EDIT: I found his name, it is HAZZARDCOUNTY (by using the back button, lol) but could I get another copy of that email sent to me, for my own personal record. And at the very least I want this trade to be reinstated. That should be fixed too, being able to cancel when one person has already shipped.

Hmm weird. I'd say force people with that many canceled trades to ship first no matter what. I mean 1 or 2 is ok but when you have half as many canceled as completed, it's something to be wary of.

Hazzard is a little kid, just started a short time ago. Bugged the hell out of me for some PS2 game. Actually, begged.
As someone above said, take a gander at a user's stats before entering into a trade. Too many flaky cancellations.

Ah, Hazzard. One trader out of a handful of traders I've had problems with. I was one of the first people to trade with him and could tell from the start that he was some little kid. Fibrofreak & I had to pay postage for the games he shipped to us, since he shipped with two stamps on each package( ).
Looking at his canceled trades, he's not going to last long here if he keeps canceling trades. Hopefully you'll get your money from him. If you don't get it within a week, look online & find his phone number. I doubt his parents would happy to know that their son is ripping people off online. | langev

always try to use a mailing method that includes some kind of tracking number. At the very least, it'll show the other trader has actually recieved and when. | bill

HazzardCounty is acting badly here and you have reason to be concerned.
Yesterday, he requested that we (moderators) delete his account. I responded to him saying that he needed to resolve his pending trade with you before we could do that. He then canceled the trade (as you've mentioned) and requested his account be deleted again.
I've just now responded to him again saying that he has to follow-through on this trade and either send what he agreed to (the money) or send you back the game you sent hime (Battle for Bikini Bottom ps2). I also restored the canceled trade. Here's the link:

All the address info and such is visible again. Let us know if he cancels again (we can restore it again).
I gave him the link to this topic, so maybe he'll read this topic and post. Lets give him a to resolve this. But, if he continues along this path and rips you off, you should call the police in his home town and report the crime. Get your parents to help you with that. | SmarmySir

It's also a good idea to not, say with it with me, trade with other users with a low amount of trades.

Ok, thanks a lot bill and everyone else. Ill get in contact with him and if he doesnt repond, Ill just keep sending letters to his parents, like Ive seen another person do. ;) If that still doesnt work, Ill have to contact police.

Update:
I sent him a PM, an email and I just filed a BTR.
Heres what the email said:
Hey man, you really need to stop playing games with me and get in contact with me, I really do not appreciate tis. From what I have heard from the owner of GTZ you have tried to close your account and then you canceled my trade, after I had already sent and you have recieved, I know this becuase I sent your game out in a batch and everyone else in that batch has already hit the i have recieved button. You also need to send me a message, if theres something wrong or something like that we could work it out, you just need to communicate with me,
Since there is a good chance that you will try to ignore this, and just hope it goes away, Ill let you know what I will have to do if you keep ignoring me. First of all I will file a BTR on you, which Im about to do right now, since you are trying to close your account anyway, I doubt this will have any effect on you, but its worht a shot. If that still does not get you to communicate, I will then send letters to your parents(yes, I know you are not of age yet), I will explain to them the situation and Im sure they will not be pleased with what you are trying to do. I will then keep sending them out every day until I get a response, Im sure they are bound to get at least one of the letters . If for some reason this still does not get a response out of you I can and will get the police involved. (I have your adress and name remember) I will file a police complaint with the Cincinnati Police Department, and then they can come over and have a talk with you. I know you are young and dont want peolpe going over your head, but I will if it gets me my stuff back.
So, what I need you to do is either
a. send me back my game
or
b. send me the $17 involved in the trade.

To answer your question from the other thread, since Bill's wanting to keep it all in one thread.
If he wants to send the game back without paying for your shipping, that's fine, at least you'll get the game back.
If he won't send the money for shipping after sending you back the game, just keep up the BTR and modify it to mention that you want him to reimburse for shipping costs since he wants to back out of the trade(that's not unreasonable). There's a chance that after sending the game, he might not ever send the money for shipping, but the BTR would still be on him for that. But at least this way you won't be out of the game & money.
If he tries to pull a stunt, like say, creating a new account cause of the BTR. He will get shutdown, cause there are a couple people(including Bill & the mods) that watch for stuff like that. | darktangerine

Judging from the fact that he hasn't logged in for about a week, I don't think you'll be getting the game or money back. It's now time to file the mail fraud complaint & to contact his local police department.

This would be the same hazzardcounty who stated in gametz chat that he was planning to trade a ps3 for an iphone over on tgn and then claim the iphone never arrived?

I think we should set up an automated phone confirmation service. Like cashcrate or whatever site that does it. So we get their phone number regardless, and have a good way to make sure they come through on trades.
