K, so most of the stuff I've seen in pics here is a full shot of the front of the box or book or whatever. Example:
Then sometimes pictures pop up that have the picture of the box at an angle, for example:
Also there's some "diorama" shots, like so:
What is the preferred picture type? And if we've got a preferred one, is there a way to request that we replace the old one with it (and is such a thing looked upon with gratitude)?

I prefer the non-diorama shots myself. The diorama images are often hard to see given the limited size. I couldn't even tell you what game that is pictured. I'd prefer to take that diorama shot and crop it to just the cover shot (hopefully, using a larger original image).
I don't have a great way for a user to do a replace, yet. But, you can email to let us know. Giving the link to the item page is really helpful (along with a link to the replacement image - or sending the image in the email might work too).
I plan to allow for more item page updating/correcting by users... also, just more things to edit (a description, amazon link, / ratings, etc.).. but, I'm not sure when I'll have time to do it (possibily, never). | benstylus

I could but only because I was looking to upload a cover shot of it lol
as for emailing to get a picture changed, would you prefer that or just posting here in site feedback?
also, just for clarification - is the max image size on those things 160 wide by 150 tall?
I know the system resizes them, but me uploading correctly sized images to begin with is even better

It's not optimal to post NT stuff in Site_Feedback. It's better to email NT about it. Emails to the NT end up in the NT forum, so the whole group will see them (and no one else). Also, historically, all NT-related message get saved in that forum (with topics grouped by user), so that can be helpful too. Every image you've uploaded has been posted to the NT forum as well. So, there's a lot of context there (from out point of view).
Images are scaled to 160x160 max (scaling is proportional, of course). |
