Something that is already bothering me in my few days here is traders using a 1 to 5 or 1 to 10 rating system for their games' trade factor, and not coming through.

So, if you're going to rate your games, rate all of them.

It's called being lazy. Get a star, then you can try bossing us around. So you know what, I'm gonna leave my list partially rated. Deal.

Anyways, Welcome to the site. It's a great place to be once you start trusting other traders and lose all the myths people have about trading when they first come. I hope to see you become an active user on the site *yes*

Bubbler, if you're really looking for something just check the console_marketplace or post your own topic. I never check my matches with anyone and rarely update my list anymore as it's such a pain since I move my games so much and not always on this site. That way when I'm looking for something specific I just ask for it and post what I have available at the moment.

What really annoys me is when somebody says something I have is a "low want" for them... so what? do I lower the fudging value of my crap cause you just want it a little?

When I say something is a "low want" for me, it doesn't mean I expect the other trader to lower their value, it just means that I don't necessarily value it the same and therefore am not willing to part with what that person would want me to part with.
How else should someone phrase that Brad?

I don't think this should ever be said... if you're not willing to be a fair market trader, then don't try. It's like saying I want this but don't expect me to trade fair for it. It's an opinion thing, others feel differently I'm sure, but that's my opinion.

I think when people say low want they mean that the item you are proposing to trade them is not an item they would particularly want, it could be a fair trade but if the other person really doesn't want the item your trading, that makes it a low want for them. If I were to propose a `trade to someone with me sending DDR2 Ram and them sending a few movies, which is a fair trade, if they have no use for the ram or really don't need it, that would be a low want for them.

When I decline people, I don't really say its a low trade or your item isn't worth it. I'll just tell them I'm not interested in the trade they proposed and they are more then welcomed to counter offer with something else.

This is pretty funny, considering you've used the "it's a low want" on me...

I use that line all the time. There's a lot of things I want, but just a little bit. I'm not going to give up my high demand item or newer release for something I don't want that bad. I'm pretty sure that's my prerogative. Are you saying I shouldn't list any games on my want list that I wouldn't trade anything on my have list for, assuming it's a fair trade? That just seems ridiculous.

Yeah, that is funny because I've never said "it's a low want" for something I have asked about (unless someone says CML and I throw out ideas of things I see that probably aren't on my wanted list) nor have I ever listed that by my items. If someone approaches me with a trade that's reidiculous I may say I don't want it that bad or something... this is not what I mean here and I think you guys know that...

I automatically assume that anyone who preface an offer with "this is a low want for me" is trying to score something at my expense. If I made the effort in coming out to make an offer, I'd surely want what I was after.

Everyone here knows the value of what they have and hopefully everyone here expects that in a trade?!

I don't think I was clear; I mean when people propose an offer TO ME and say this. I don't particularly mind if I ask you for something and that's your counter...

I'd rather say it wasn't what I was looking for for this item. "It's a low want" is too blunt for my taste.

I just fail to see how this is a big deal at all. I suppose in certain contexts it could be, but saying "no thanks, that game is just a low want of mine" sounds perfectly harmless and truthful.

i agree with that; I had a hard time communicating what I meant (chromosome problem) People actually send me offers or reply to a post I have and say my stuff is low want, but check the list. I just don't like that. I undertsand it could be helpful if someone is despertae for a trade and sometimes the stars align and something I want to get is worthless to that person; not usually.

It's kind of like being half-pregnant; you fudgein want my stuff, or you don't.

Sometimes I'll just say low want if we have a price difference. Like when people would offer like 15-20 for Forza 2. I said look at Amazon and low want.
