bill, just wondering if you have any records (or if it's even tracked) on things like:
most / fewest trades pended in a single day
most / fewest users online at a time
most / fewest forum posts in a single day
It would be interesting to see some of those numbers if they are available. Then we could try and break some records - it'd be like the gametz olympics

Has the Noob Pending forum and the Mentors helped cut down on BTR's? (I don't remember if I asked before) |
bill

| | #12 posted August 28, 2008 at 7:02am (EST) |
This month's Rip-off ratio: 0.7% (1 in 137 trades)
That's 1 BTR for every 137 trades. I think that's pretty good, maybe better than usual. I think we may have had it as low as 0.5% in the past, though.
I don't track or graph this stat. But, I have posted it in the forums before.
Here's what I found after a quick search:
February 25, 2008: 0.9% (1 in 117 trades)
May 4, 2001: 1.8% (1 in 57 trades)
I don't know how meaningful that is, though. Lots of missing data. Also, the way BTRs tend to run is periods of calm, then some big disaster. We haven't had a disaster in a while, I think. Though, that may well be because of our efforts. We have stopped several scammers early in recent months.
Also, trades have been up (see above graph), so that really helps the ratio. Though, the ratio is still a good stat (BTRs/trade). |

For the record bill is that one standing BTR for this month or is that total filed. |

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.
The current stat say this month's Rip-off ratio: 0.7% (1 in 138 trades) -- slight change from yesterday.
The full numbers are 13 BTRs and 1,794 trades over the last 30 days. So, 13/1794 = 0.007246 , multiply that by 100 to turn it into a percent and we get 0.7246 or 0.7% for short. 1 in 138 is just reducing the fraction of 13 / 1794. I add that just to make it more understandable. Over the last month, for every 138 completed trades, there was 1 BTR. |

It count active BTRs (not deleted). edited doesn't matter... I don't know what you mean by re-filed... BTRs are active or deleted... or purged (don't exist anymore). |

I have a statistical request, too!
A few weeks ago you (bill) made a change to the filter system, whereby people would no longer be given the option within a thread to see the filtered post. The only way that people can now see a filtered post is to unfilter that user.
I'm wondering the pre/post figures on the total number of filtered users.
Thanks!

Can you please provide the current total number of filtered users figure?
Thank you

I have a script that will generate the list of top people who are filtered. There's no total, though. It's not very accurate either because it counts filtered people even when the filterer is no longer subscribed (thus the filter isn't active).
Here's what it looks like:

Another stat-based question: How long has the scoring system been in effect? We're not over a year yet, are we? If we are, would there be a way to get an 'all-time' for the period of length?
edit: also, what's the 'my-users' criteria mean again? |

| | #28 posted August 29, 2008 at 9:30am (EST) |
I'm not sure... you could probably search for it in this forum to see when I announced it.
I don't think we're over a year yet. Yeah, maybe I could add an all-time option, though there could be a performance issue.
My users is a list of people you've scored the most positive or negative. |
