I was given a comment on a review I did, and when I clicked on the link to read it, it gave me an 'invalid forum; switching to General' thing. Here is the link:

I noticed a similar problem has been mentioned by someone else in another thread, but I figured I'd bring this one up as well.
Edit: Also noticed that the post date for the comment says July. Screenshot linked below:

Wow it was a comment from the past or future depending on how you look at it.

....oh, uh, what's the issue with July... I assume that's OK. |

The issue with July is that I only posted the review today, so a comment should not exist on my review from two months ago.

That comment is in response to this TP review...

I've seen that problem before where the system cannot differentiate between two different reviews of the same game.

Yeah, it combines comments on purpose... actually, it will even do it spanning platforms too.
The whole forum-per-item thing is pretty sucky. I've been meaning to get rid of it or replace it with something else. |

Don't about anyone else, but I tried connecting to the site 10 minutes and got a "505- Information Error" page instead. Was there something being changed with the code? |

Yeah, there was some weirdness going on. Connections to www.gametz.com were answering with a redirect to gametz.com (like usually), but then gametz.com would never load the page. From what I can tell, it was doing this for just over an hour.

Hm, I'm not sure what caused this. I made a change to the web-server config around 8-8:30ish, but it seemed fine after.
It may have been a script I ran before I signed-off, though. It's a script that finds images and I know it has caused problem in the past because it puts a lot of load on the system when it runs. It ran from 9:16pm to 9:57 EDT. That would be right before these posts.
Things seem fine now. So, I'm going to assume it was that script. It's not something I do very often, but I'll be more careful about running it next time. |
