So it all started with an offer sent by him to me for 30 dollars for the following:
1) Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PlayStation) [Condition: excellent; Box: yes; Manual: yes]
2) Tomb Raider (PlayStation) [Condition: excellent; Box: yes; Manual: yes]
I declined and we eventually agreed on him sending first since he had 2 feedback and a price of 25 dollars.
He ships the games, I get the soon thereafter... except: The copy of Tomb Raider wasn't listed as greatest hits (it was) , and it was definitely not in excellent condition. And then the copy of RE:3 came without the case, and is DEEPLY scratched, something that for sure doesn't constitute excellent condition. I sent the following:

The back of the CD also has a big circular scratch. By widely accepted standards that doesn't really constitute something as being in 'excellent' condition. I am posting this rather hastily as I am not home yet, but I will send pictures if you need to justify my claims. Now the choice is yours, would you accept a deduction in the amount of money I'm sending or would you like to pay for shipping and have me ship the games back to you. I dont mean to be an ass about this but I believe your items were miss represented.

he agreed to do 20 dollars. Granted I took a few extra days but I sent to him on the 29th. He is now saying that he still hasnt received. I really dont believe him seeing as how I triple checked his address and sent it out a the same time as another payment for more than 2 times that amount, which successfully arrived.
He is now telling me to send 20 more dollars or ship the games back. I counter-pointed saying since he originally mis-represented the games that I won't pay for shipping the games back. Am I in the wrong for not being so keen on wasting more of my money for a trade that he didnt take was any seriousness in the first place.

This will probably need a mods attention. Whose idea was it to use cash? If it was yours, did you let him know ahead of time and was he okay with it? That might make a difference.
It will probably come down to you can't prove you sent nor that he received, so you might be SOL. But, if it was his idea to use cash or if he agreed to it at least, splitting the loss may be the best solution.

I used cash because it was just easier for me at the time to do that than to go grab another money order ( i had forgotten by the time I got home). I think the fault still is with him since he misrepresented his side of the trade, when I should have just told him I didn't want sub-par goods and made him pay for return shipping. I've seen traders do that in the past. |

This is why when I have to send cash, I send it with delivery confirmation. That way if it shows it was delivered & he says he never received it, you have proof it was.
I have to ask, if you were that dissatisfied with the trade, why not just send the games back from the start? I can understand him not mentioning TR was a GH, since some people don't care about that. But there's no excuse for mislabeling scratched up disc only games. Have you tested the games to make sure they work?

the first few minutes of the game seem fine, but seeing as how the scratch is near the middle i doubt i will know until i play through more. You're right about DC on the cash, I never thought of that. |

so there's no way im going to be out 20 dollars, and then have to ship the games back to you when you already lied in the first place, and you're probably lying now since you cant spell correctly or make the slightest attempt to act or sound professional. so the balls in your court, send me the like 3 dollars it costs to ship your scratched and misrepresented games. or fess up.

the games arent worth holding onto for all this hassle, especially since RE3 is so worthless in the state he sent me it. i value my feedback/ rapport on this site enough to just give the kid back his games, but not on my dime. |

he did not inform me that he would be shipping out cash (said he was gonna use a M.O., then it magicaally became cash in the mail???). i sent him an idea i had " ok. ill send you $3, you ship the games back, then after i get the games, ill cancel the trade, then it will be like this all never happened and we can just ignore each other from now on. deal?". if i somehow get his money order, i will ship the games back to him. ok??? |

First Class Mail International is fairly cheap, especially to Canada, but Faithe doesn't ship outside the US due to the cost of tracked shipping, it's not that she hates Canadians or something. I think you used to be able to use the numbers on a Customs Form as tracking, but I don't know if that still works. |

It does still work. I understand why she'd want to ship with a tracking number only, but when it's two multiple gold star traders trading and it's a low cost item, she should be a little less anal.
I know she doesn't hate Canadians. I just dislike when people refuse to be flexible due to one or two bad experiences. Canada Post just doesn't LOSE packages. They are slow but very reliable.

Yah both of these guys are douches. I dont really want to send anything overseas because it involves getting the customs forms and waiting in a long ass line while the PO is open.
Shipping in the usa=no waiting, no hassle. To ship to someone in another country involves additional time and hassle, so why should i sell to someone in canada, when i get the same amount of money for sending to someone in the usa(without the extra time and work)?
