Just wondering if one of the ads is possibly a phishing ad or something is up? AVG keeps blocking access to the site sometimes and says it is a known phishing or suspicious activity. Like if I go to my profile it does it all the time (It seems) if I click on some forums it seems to do it. If I hit back and go again sometimes it's ok. I'm wondering if it's one of the ads?
Anyone else getting these problems? |

I used to have that problem, I don't think it's anything serious. |

With all that money to burn, why not buy subtime?

I wouldn't worry too much. AVG has been throwing up a lot of false positives lately (both personal experience and from what I have read on the web). I would consider switching to Avast |

Happen to have one of the fake anti-virus/spyware programs lurking on your system?
These pieces of crap pretty much claim every website is a dangerous site.
Happened to my brother earlier tonight which I why it's the first thing that springs to mind.
But if it's only GTZ, it's bizarre and likely not what I'm talking about.

It's sounds like AVG is misbehaving. |

I hardly think AVG is a fake anti-virus program. lol...
And yeah it's only GTZ at the moment.I have had problems with some other sites in the past when their actual google ads generator has tried to redirect the page to that "Your computer has viruses" one. Other then that though no problems. I really do think it is a random ad here that ABG doesn't like. I know people can't control the google ads that appear and there has been some pretty Iffy ads running through those googles ones. They catch em and take em down but still... it's annoying. Why some trusting company like Google can let ads like that get through. (Specially those redirect ones that wont let you close the page and you have to close the whole browser... really annoying)

Either that or there is an iffy add and it's being overly cautious. |

Get aVast. Problem solved. I wouldn't trust a program that asked people to delete a Windows file.

AVG? That piece of crap brought my sister's computer to its knees. It's a piece of garbage.
Get Avast. |

AVG was good stuff through v7.5. Starting with v8, AVG decided that they wanted to be the next Norton/Symantec. So, they turned their product into a resource-hog that is often the highest CPU-using process on your machine at all times.
So, they did a great job of being just like Norton/Symantec -- which is why I also now run Avast.

You know, I got so used to AVG that I never really payed attention to it.
But it does seem more intrusive/resource hogging than it used to be.
Maybe I should switch to Avast? Is that the lean, mean, free, AV program to have now?

Yeah AVG sucks. I went on ign.com and it blocked almost every page so I got rid of it. |

I tried running AVG 8 for a while, but then it started claiming that my NWN 2 disc contained a virus. So yeah, running Avast now and liking it quite a lot.
