So far my faves would have to be(in order): Pit, Meta Knight, Ice Climbers, Marth, Link, Snake
Haven't tried out a few of them yet and I still have a few to unlock too.

You cant really compare Ike and Marth, the only thing they have in common is a counter and the fact they both have swords |

I think my husband was mostly looking forward to Sonic. But we only just got the game tonight so it'll probably be a while until we unlock everyone. We just got Marth unlocked and that's it. Luigi kicked my ass but that was the first time I played, heh.

I mean, I only played as Sonic against the final boss. and got my ass kicked.... but his attackes didn't go very far from what I used. He's (of course) very fast, though. which I guess makes up for it.

I just got this game, me and my friends played it for a good 6 hours.
I love using King Dedede, my backup is Pit.
Most of my friends use Marth or Link though. |

Wow, I never expected so many people to like some of the ones mentioned. I'm up to 78% on Subspace. I'll tell you how Sonic is. I got up to 58% on Sunday, and 78% today, so I figure I'll get him tomorrow. |

I'm really enjoying Ike, but really I like them all for the most part. I haven't used Dedede much, and I don't like Wario. I didn't like Olimar at first but I'm getting used to him. Sonic is fun but I don't really use him because I don't have a good handle on how to use him. ROB has nice up and down smashes. Pit is annoying to play against, but he and Meta Knight are a blast to play as. Toon Link is just like Young Link, only blazing fast. And Snake...well I like his tactical side, but he'll take some practise as well. |

I unlocked Sonic withoit going through Subspace Emissary. He just showed up when I was playing with some friends in regular Brawls.
By the way, I hate Pit. I don't like playing as him, and I don't like fighting him. He's annoying. |

I'm the same as sandman, but you can add Mario to that list. Back when I used to play on the N64 and Gamecube, all of my friends already picked all the good characters (Roy, etc.) so I would always just use Mario and got used to it. |

Er,
Why not also play as Roy etc? You could still play as the same character, if you wanted to differentiate yourself you can change the colour of your fighters.

Roy and Marth have near the same speed with Roy falls faster and actually being lighter than Marth which is weird, the only reason Marth is ranked higher than Roy is because of the placement of his "sweet spot" on his blade |

Um no. Roy is slower, like you said way shorter jump and has no aerial capabilities. And yes Marth does have a better sweet spot...
