What are your opinions on how the they rank the characters this time around, i was surprised by the current melee ranking that ranked Mewtwo last, but pretty much agreed with the list in general |

jigglypuff's rest was quite the weapon in melee
that's how i beat the giga bowser event |

I could never master Jigglypuff. I'd just hit the combination for him to go to sleep all the time, then get my ass beat.

i tended to rollout off the stage a lot. but when you hit rest right on someone and one hit KO'd them, it felt great.
his "go to sleep" move is an instant kill if you do it while touching someone. well, not even touching, you have to essentially be right "on" them, with the centers of your collision boxes as close as possible. basically if you hit someone while jiggly's center of mass is on them, they'll say goodbye |

Jigglypuff's sleep isn't actually an instant KO, at least with handicaps on.
It is a great move though. I use it quite frequently against a friends that spams Kirby's down b move (the stone/weight); I just shield, walk toward him as he comes out of the move, and sleep for the kill. Jumping or falling into someone as Jigglypuff is the best way to use that move.
I'm shocked that Mewtwo is ranked below Pichu. |

You have to understand this is a list of the characters after they are mastered, i was surprised to see Roy have such a big gap from Marth and the list is arguable it has been changed like 8 times give or take. You cant argue with the top 3 though, after mastered they are almost cheap. Link can be considered the average character as he is right in the middle. I have to argue that Mewtwo is better than to be the worst character |

I thought it would be Fox, Shiek, Marth, Falco and I don't see why Mewtwo is last either. |

I bet the people that came up with this tier list think they are so bad ass. |

It's mostly used for tournaments for cash prizes and stuff like that |

What? What do you mean? The list doesn't have any actual application... |
ChosenWarrior
| | #15 posted March 19, 2008 at 1:02pm (EDT) |
The top tiered fighters are usually the ones entered in tourneys, the list is also a measure of how much a character is used in such tourneys |

1. Yes
2. That is _not_ what the list is for. |

I know, but you can look at it that way as well, the higher up on the list the more likely they will be used in a tournament |

Now worries, actually i dont remember seeing anyone win a tournament on videos who werent on the top 4...i actually pay alittle attention to the tier list as i usually pick my main fighter out of my favorites who are highest on that list as that would be the character i would try to master first, thats why im just curious to see the SSBB list |

People win outside of the top 4 often.

This is a tad off topic, but does anybody know if EGM reviewed Brawl yet? I don't have a sub to EGM, and I'm writing a review (on this site) for Brawl. In my reviews, I post some other scores the game(s) have gotten, and was wondering if anybody could help me out? Thanks. |

Yeah, i actually got a free sub. from alpha's link a couple months ago and got the 1st issue in April, they said they will review Brawl in the May issue |

Most people find him a pain in the ass to play against, so i would guess he would atleast be in the top 10, if not the top 5 |

Pit is fun to play as. Not the most offensive-oriented character, but still pretty good. :) |

Pit takes no skill to use.
You just annoy the opponent until he throws the controller and says, "Fudge this crap! I'm doing something else!" |

Pit lacks attacks though.
Like his shield. WTFudge. I'd take an attack over that shield any day.
But he's pretty good for comboing if you connect the first strike, and his flight is amazing. I don't see, unless you're knocked full speed off the stage, how one could die. Its also VERY useful for jumping away from attacks.

What I hate about Pit, as well as Meta Knight, is that they don't have any "finishing" A-button moves. It sucks.

I dunno I can generally kick someone off at 120-150 damage easy with him.

Well everyone can, but the question is can he knock them out around 70-100 that really matters |

Haha, yeah, the reason why i like Marth and Roy back in Melee is that they both can KO easily against 60ish characters with a simple side A smash if it hits the sweet spot, since i havent played Brawl yet and all i have to go on are videos i cant say who is good at KOing at low levels |

His Smash Attacks are good final strikes. Kinda lame to say he takes no skill to use... |

He's not Bowser/Ike.... That's why he's a light-mid weight character. lol |

Pretty bad strategy to rely on final smash at all...

Pikachu from Melee could get a KO at 70-100 with one of his smashes, and he's pretty light |
