I've been on a real movie kick over the last couple weeks, so I've watched a bunch of films for the 1st time. Here's a brief rundown (scores out of 5):
3:10 to Yuma - 4 / 5 - Christian Bale is just a superb actor. Good old fashioned wetern - RECOMMEND : BUY
American Gangster - 4.5 / 5 - 3 Hours long and totally worth it. - RECOMMEND : BUY
Cloverfield - 3 / 5 - Similar to Lost, lots of unanswered questions. Interesting idea, excecution could have been better. Should see it once. RECOMMEND : RENT
Dan in Real Life - 3.5 / 5 - Not a laugh out loud comedy, but it was a really good flick. - RECOMMEND : RENT
Gone Baby Gone - 5 / 5 - Best movie I've seen in a long time. - RECOMMEND: BUY
Hitman - 1 / 5 - Rubbish - RECOMMEND: SKIP IT
Juno - 4.5 / 5 - Excellent writing again from Apatow & crew. RECOMMEND: BUY
No Country for Old Men - 4.5 / 5 - Basically verbatim as the book including the ending. "Call it!" - RECOMMEND: RENT
Sweeney Todd - 4 / 5 - Would have been a five, but some of the songs were too boring - JOANNA!!! - RECOMMEND: RENT
There Will Be Blood - 4 / 5 - Daniel Day Lewis made this movie. Anyone else and it would have been a 2-3 rating. - RECOMMEND : RENT
We Own the Night - 2 / 5 - 1 Rating for Joaquin Phoenix and 1 for Mark Wahlberg. After that - Nothing memorable. - RECOMMEND: SKIP IT

The Dark Knight - 5/5, 10/10, 100/100 - However you want to rate it, it's perfect. Five word review: GO SEE THIS MOVIE NOW! - RECOMMEND: Go see it first in theater, then again in IMAX. Then buy the day it comes out.

Movies I've seen this summer:
Iron Man - 5 / 5 - Way better than I was expecting it to be.
Indiana Jones - 3 / 5 - Totally different vibe than the superior earlier ones, but definitely worth seeing. Seriously, its Indiana Jones.
Hulk - 3.5 / 5 - Very fast moving. Special effects looks reall good and Ed Norton was a great choice for Bruce Banner.
Dark Knight - 5+ / 5 - Easily best movie of the summer and one of my all time favorites. I've seen it 3 times already.
Still want to see:
X-Files
Pineapple Express
Tropic Thunder
The Rocker
Burn Notice (comes out September 12th)
