hey girls, anybody got any info on fixing networking slowness/connection issues with 10.5, Macbook wireless or wired? Doesn't seem to be many answers, except to wait for the 10.5.2 update in January. If any ideas, bring em on.
This is why I usually am not an early adopter, bleeding edge and all thank.
TIA for any help. |

When is it slow? Constantly or just when you are performing certain online activity? |

Now that I've finally revived my FreeNAS, talking to it with Leopard causes more problems then it did with Tiger. Maybe I'm hitting badly named files, or just trying to grab too much at once, but it works about 30 seconds on a transfer then loses all connection with the server. Doesn't matter if I use AFP or SMB (haven;t set-up or tried other access methods). Actually the failure stops everything with my Ethernet port.

10.5.2 is out today. Maybe they fixed some networking issues? |

the issues I had were with wireless - range, DNS, etc with N, there were problem reports with various brands of routers and other network equipment, 10.5.1 fixed many, but something was broken for a goodly number of users with 10.5 networking, even though many folks never saw a problem. I had no 10.3/10.4 problems with wireless on a number of Macs, but 10.5 did something different on the network side. |

Well I know the security setup for any router HAS to be WPA2 Personal because if you attempt to use WEP security it won't function a lot of the time or at a reduced speed -- just in my experience anyway. |
