What are you looking to do with the computer? If you are a big PC gamer, it might not be the best bet as the video card isn't upgradable. Since Apple switched to Intel processors, you can dual-boot Windows and Mac OS X. That way you could boot into Windows for any games you might want to play.
EDIT:
One other suggestion. Whenever you are ready to buy, consider buying a refurbished machine from Apple. You can get a pretty decent discount. We bought a refurbished iMac last June. Works great, and includes the same warranty as a new machine. |

I'd buy an iMac now except I want to see if they offer 3GHZ chips (one up from the core 2 duo 2.8's) and change the video card back to Nvidia.
