Recently I did a little cleaning underneath the keyboard of my macbook, after it was done some of the scissors under the keys were bent a bit. So right now 3 of my keys are slightly raised and my f6 is crooked. I have heard of the apple genius bar at apple stores, does anyone know if they'd be able to replace the scissors and anyone know what they would charge? I tried to call the store before but their answering is automated and I could never get through, I plan to just make an appointment anyways but it's about a 40 minute drive so I'd like to figure out if they will fix it before I make the trip. |

You may have to just replace the keyboard if the scissors are actually bent (instead of just out of alignment).

I don't think so since the scissors are just removeable parts. With a little tinkering I could take one of the keys that are fine and swap the scissors with one of the weird keys and it'd be perfectly fine. I did see some third party site selling individual scissors for $14.95 which sounds pretty crappy, I hope apple charges no where near that. |

Well, good luck with that. Maybe it's just under warranty?

Well went out to the genius bar and you were right, instead of just replacing scissors they replaced the whole keyboard (top and bottom). Completely free of charge under warranty though I got one of those silicone keyboard covers so I don't mess up my keyboard this time and get the urge to clean it again. |
